... No he wasn't -- he only proved to be what everybody knows he is -- a puppet promoter...
the only thing is that beterbiev has done something like this before, with chilemba, at the start of the year before he was with haymon. that makes me suspect that it could someone else in the camp (marc ramsey, perhaps)

Maybe his team is just better aware of his value and are trying to maximize it.

Beterbiev has NO exclusive TV contract and could fight on HBO without issue.
Just another case of them hiding behind Haymon hoping for a purse bid and hoping Kovalev will vacate.

Yeah we saw what Haymon made Quillen do, I'm sure it was a wise "buisness" decision to you in that case lol. We all know your angle, it's clear as day who you support. You'd rather see fights play out behind closed doors then when offered in the ring when certain en****** are involved.
These kind of responses are amazing... Mayweather is about to retire so Al Haymon is inheriting all of his haters. You guys are the most persistently delusional and pathetically petty bunch in all of sports fandom.

I don't get what you're saying, I said I criticized team Duva and Kovalev when they pulled out of the purse bid after talking Stevenson ducking them for ages, not Stevenson, of course back before that when he jumped ship to showtime I criticized him as well.

Why does he need to become the mandatory? Kovalev is offering him the fight here and now for three belts, not one. They even said before HBO was fine and talked up all this game about being ready to fight Kovalev any time and beating him. We all know what it is, they found a safer way, under Haymon's tutelage..

As if the promoter should be the puppet master. It's a new day for boxing where the power is no longer only leveraged by promoters because of Al Haymon who directly represents his clients interests. If he hadn't been such a close associate of Mayweather's I'm sure you would admit that this is a good thing.

... "safer way"? How do you "translate" this in boxing terms?...
... by Stevenson actually "ducking" the Hopkins, Pascal, Kovalev fights???
... What else?... by starting the same game with Beterbiev?

(not to mention here other "big shots" like Quillin, Wilder, LSG...)

You notice that whenever Duva or others engineer deals that are good for their fighters, even if it prevents fights people want, there is never the same visceral reaction.

Man they were saying Stevenson ducked Kovalev by signing with Al Haymon, the most powerful manager in boxing. How ****** is that. Is every fighter that has signed with Haymon ducking a fight with an opponent that is affiliated with en****** that refuse to deal with Haymon? GTFOH!

Of course. These are all Freudian spasms of Mayweather hatred being directed at all things related. In this case it's Al Haymon.
