you trying to compare different politics in two different eras....BHop is ancient....his MW run was in a different era....so the boxing politics and purses was a bit different

Also if you ever had to defend BHop on the board you'd know that one of the most fired shots is him beating on smaller dudes

B hop beat better comp. Lmao

GGG has defended hisbtitles how many times.what 10 times if that.
Who were the first 10 guys b hop defended against??

Roy clearly beat hop and he never avoided b hop. He clearly said 60 40 and ill whoop yo arxe again. Hop wantes 50 50. Grfoh with that garbage... Roy was the A side. B hop waited him out into their 40s after roy was shot to do a rematch. You know the one everyome thought was garbage. Hagler stayed at 160 monzon did as well.

GGG was supposed to be different. His fans, HBO, and trainer didn't only push the "anyone from 154-168" "he ko Kovalev do" for years, they actually seem to believe it. Ward? Ko Kovalev? Ko ...but let's fight Cotto. When the door came knocking, he is just another boxer balancing rewards and risks

I have no problem with GGG seeking to maximize his career and trash Cotto, he has every reason to and Cotto shouldn't be running from his own division. But the hype built around him is now spoiled. Now he and his super fans are business men do

also, I don't know if you want to use Hopkins, who, after all, got a light hw title at nearly 50 years old. When GGG does that, then you can compare properly

That true about BHop and the critics? Honestly, all I ever hear about his 160 run is how 'historic' and 'hall of fame worthy' it is. That's the general vibe I get from the boxing media anyways.

I'll take Mercado, a young Glen Johnson and an old John David Jackson over GGG's resume. Keith Holmes too. All will be forgiven if GGG moves up two divisions to fight Kovalev.

That's too much information for the usual suspects. They can't process it because they just skim over boxrec without any knowledge of the opponents.

GGG doesn't believe he can beat Ward unless Ward drops 4 extra pounds or has one arm tied behind his back. The notion that everybody is scared of Golovkin has been shattered and he plays the ducking game as good as anybody else.

He was criticized for it. All I see for Golovkin are excuses. "But....but...what about Hopkins? "

And Hopkins beat better opposition @ 160 than the Triple Duck has...
Besides Tito and Taylor( at THAT time), who? Carl Daniels? Robert Allen? Echols? Hakkar?

Hopkins is an all time great, sure, but lets not pretend his middleweight run was against murderers row.......
