EcholsHell no Hopkins beat a ton of bums at middleweight, you can't even name half the guys Hopkins defended his titles against outside of De la Hoya and Trinidad two welterweights.
GGG has certainly fought better comp at middleweight than Hopkins. And once he beats Lee and Canelo he'll start getting the respect he deserves.

John David Jackson
Glen Johnson
Robert Allen

Hhahahahaha so true. I'll ride with Pac til I die. Now that Broner was found to be nothing more than the biggest hype job of the past 20 years, Floyd's bois need a new champion, and Ward fits the bill. I got on the Pac War wagon when he was half dead vs Marquez, I ain't about to stop driving this train!pac/floyd fans who don't know what to do with their lives anymore have converted ward into floyd and ggg into pacquaio
it's painfully obvious
they both have other people who are closer in size to fight but then you can't argue about a-sides and contracts and ducking all dayComment

I think if social media and forums were that developed back then, Hopkins would get a comparable level of hate from Tito fans... The difference though, Tito himself was a brave man and he genuinely believed that he could beat Bhop. So were his fans. The stint with PR flag was low though. I still think that was the worst thing Bhop ever done...Comment

I think Hopkins's beating of Tarver is less impressive if you look into context. Tarver's best win was Jones, who wasn't the same after losing a lot of muscles, coming down from heavy. Then Tarver himself put all those muscles for that movie. And the irony of this - he became the hostage of his catch-phrase "got any excuses tonight, Roy". He had to keep his mouth shot after Hopkins underssed him. I loved every minute of it - sort of poetic justice. But Hopkins greatly benefited from being in the right place at the right time...Comment
