Someone already posted that in this thread, and I'll say it again: When did WARD himself call himself out? That's Kovalev's promoter, that has nothing to do with Ward.

Verbal negotiations between two parties mean absolutely nothing in boxing: I.E Adonis-Kovalev a couple of years ago.


Ward has not called out Kovalev a single time.


There is a lot of hypocrisy in this thread as far as Ward-GGG and Ward-Kovalev, the point of the thread has been made. Read through the thread.

Kathy Duva of Main Events, which promotes Kovalev, sounded optimistic about that match being made.

“I’ve been talking to Andre Ward’s people all week. And I think we all agree that fight’s going to happen. It’s just a question of when,” Duva said while speaking in advance of Kovalev’s July 25 defense against Nadjib Mohammedi on HBO. “The talks have been very amicable. They are making their decisions who they want to fight next, and we have plans in place already for Sergey for his next couple of fights. You do know that Duva is Kovalev's promoter, not Ward's?

My prediction for what will happen with this fight is that Ward will demand the lion's share of the purse as a concession for moving up, Kovalev will say no, and that will be that.

The two best fights for Andre are Golovkin and Kovalev and he just said he wants them both. Insecure Golovkids want him to take Kov first because it puts Andre in a bad spot by having to cut back down to face Golovkin. Insecure twats just can't be honest and look at thisin a logical way. The best thing for the sport is for Ward to fight Golovkin then, Kovalev, and that's exactly what Ward said he's trying to do.

Wait? So calling guys out through the boxing media is more valuable and important to you than getting on the phone and actually TRY TO MAKE THE FIGHT? That has to be one of the dumbest things I ever heard on this forum, nothing personal but you're reaching now!

I would much rather fighters actually try to make fights happen behind closed doors instead of talking tough through the boxing Media and then not even try to make the fight happen. now ward has that same 2 million guarantee but a promoter who doesn't need hbo so here come the bums!
