Is Ward scared of Kovalev? NSB hypocrisy? (videos)

  • The reality is that Ward needs Golovkin more than the other way around. Golovkin may need him for credibility purposes amongst hardcore fans, Ward needs him to breakthrough.

If he doesn't get Golovkin, and I don't believe he ever will, If you look at Ward's options at 168 they aren't great...

He'll never get to fight either Dirrell brother, or DeGale or Badou Jack, as those guys are with Haymon. Arthur Abraham and Felix Sturm aren't leaving Germany to fight. George Groves, should he beat Badou Jack, will likely look for a DeGale fight and if not he'll look for some lesser title defenses at home. Zurdo Ramirez is with Arum and he'll look to protect him as much as possible.

That really leaves Ward with Fedor Chudinov as the only possible opponent at 168. Don't get me wrong Chudinov is solid and he's ranked so it would be a good fight for Ward.

But after that it's bleak. He may be forced to move up to 175 soon.

Unlike GGG he doesn't have the backing from HBO where he can just select any opponent and appear on the network.

Hunter insisted that he would not have Ward fight 175 pounders unless Ward was a true light heavyweight. He should realize that GGG is a small middleweight and should not be asked to come up to 168 to fight the best 168 pounder in the world. GGG haters make a big deal of him being willing to fight Chavez or Froch at 168 but will only go to 164 for Ward. Is anybody ****** enough to think Chavez or even Froch are as good as Ward. GGG knows damn well Ward is better than those two and that's why he won't go all the way up to Ward's perfect weight. Hunter just said Ward won't do that for Kovalev so why ask GGG to do it for Ward. It is similar to Jones fighting Ruiz for the heavyweight title. He could have fought Lewis for the title but he didn't because Lewis was ten times better than Ruiz. If Ward and GGG never fight it's because they are in different weight classes and it's hard to make a fair fight for both fighters. If they never fight each other they are still great champions and the best fighters in the world in their weight class. I can accept that.
        Best post so far...cong****.

        • Ward didn't say he'd fight everyone from 160-175. Ward didn't accept two fights at 175 against other opponents... The hypocrisy is nothing compared to the damage control lol.

LOL,yet you want GGG to fight Mayweather..

            your post

Has anybody seen Mancini fight? I have. I consider him a good fighter but absolutely not a legend. Mayweather is never going to fight GGG at 154 pounds. As a huge fan of GGG I would love to see him fight Mayweather at 154 for Mayweather's titles and his middleweight title. I am confident GGG would add Mayweather to his KO streak. But the fight will never happen so why worry about it?

so GGG can move down but not up..****ing ridiculous

You really have problems understanding simple arguments man.. I feel a bit sorry for you. Having to explain everything like to a 6 year old gets exhausting after a while, if you cant figure it out yourself that a Mayweather fight is 10 times more desirable than a Ward fight then i am sorry for you.

Spare me your answer please, you're just gonna say "but but but he said anyone doe"

Boxing fans want to see both fights. Scared GGG fans don't.
Ok dirk that is exactly what GGG wants to do! Fight the Canelo Cotto winner or big money then move up to Ward! How hard is that to understand? So it's ok for Ward to do it but not GGG?
GGG called out anyone from 154-168 at a time where no one wanted to fight him. Now he has some opponents to choose from but bottom line is e wants to face the winner of the Cotto Canelo fight then move up

Nah Ward just said he'd be fighting at HW by now.

Instead he's chasing an inexperienced MW.

Ward called out Floyd at 160, but won't move down for GGG, and he said he'd fight Klit at HW. Ward moved up to 172 but needs some tuneups to fight at 175?

So where exactly is Ward moving to make those great fights happen?
