Ward makes $2 million whoever he fights, more than Golovkin.
When you add in the international rights sales to his fights, which are broadcast in over 120 countries, Golovkin makes a lot more than $2 million while Ward needs his rich promoter, Roc Nation, to pick up the tab for his fights which are viewed by 325k on a BET time buy. Yeah, Ward is such a superstar.
No matter how you spin it....
..... Golovkin will fight Froch/Chavez at 168, but not Ward
That is completely and utterly indefensible !
because golovkin-ward is a real fight between two of the best of the best. golovkin-froch and golovkin-chavez jr would have been exhibitions. if we want golovkin-ward at 168 lbs then we have to accept that it only makes sense after golovkin finishes business at middleweight; if we want golovkin-ward right now then ward has to make concessions. simple. i'm happy to wait because golovkin-lemieux, golovkin-lee and especially golovkin-cotto/alvarez are all fights that i'd like to see. ward has a couple of good fights at smw to keep him busy too. the only person who really loses out is kovalev, since i guess it puts him right at the back of the queue
Golovkin is a punk. Yeah this is his team talking is what his fans would say, but GGG will do nothing to stop this nonsense. He won't oppose the catchweight. He is being exposed so badly and not doing anything about it. What a joke.
Bumlovkin agreed on sportsnation 164cw and 50/50 for ward fight when kellerman asked him about it can't stop none sense if he cosigned it also
Seems Ward doesn't truly believe he can win unless he has every advantage lol.
You say "every advantage" like you feel Ward has a lot of them at 168. Can you list these advantages that Ward has over GGG at 168, and also list the advantages that Froch and Chavez Jr had over GGG at 168.
But the last paragraph made a lot sense actually... Floyd shouldn't fight Berto really, I'd rather it not happen and he retire. Same for Klits to be honest with you, it would be a god send to the HW division.
Both guys leaving would be better for the sport than them facing guys who have no chance. I don't want to them to leave or retire, I'd rather see Floyd in a rematch with Cotto or even face GGG. Win or lose, he's challenged. I just want to see people challenged it's as simple as that.
So your official stance here is Mayweather should retire because he's too good for 147 and Klitschko should retire because he's too good for heavyweight? lol what a joke you've become. Only guys who aren't dominating should continue boxing because dominating is not impressive, only struggling against "challenges" is.
you want him to gain 8 lbs of muscle and then cut it again immediately afterwards? that's idiotic and could end his career. like ward said: "going down in weight is not an option". if he fights ward now, he has to abandon big fights with lemieux, lee and cotto/canelo. it's simply not worth it. the catchweight request is basically a way of saying "not yet - unless you are willing to make a significant concession" (which of course we all know ward isn't (nor should he, unless he is really really desperate for the fight to happen asap)). otherwise, ward has to wait in line. i think they should both stop talking about each other if they're not willing to make compromises at this time (although i'm sure the boxing media will make that difficult)
Spot on. If going up just 3lbs from his last fight, then back down, is not an option for Ward, then how is going up 8lbs, then back down again, an option for GGG, with unification fights at MW now maybe only months away?
I also have real doubts that this supposed "roadblock" over a CW for Ward/GGG even exists.
Is Loeffler close to finalising a deal with some as yet unnamed opponent for GGG's next fight, and stuck in a roadblock with Ward at the same time?
Until one of Ward or GGG's team comes out and verifies what this unnamed source is saying, I'm not taking this seriously.

To be completely honest why aren't you ward fans satisfied? If GGG wanted to he could offer ward 60/40 in favor of GGG, the place he wants to fight, at 160 (give ward the dawson treatment). Yet GGG is nice enough to bless ward with his ring presence at 164 for a 50/50 split! what the fu ck more do you want?
