chavez froch and mayweather brought substantial purses which made the moves up or down worth the risk
not hard to understand really
then his ****** fans should stop claiming that he's being avoided because there are 154lbers and 168lers out there that are willing to fight him, it's just that he doesn't have the balls to step up.
If GGG beats Ward he is the #1 pound for pound fighter in the world (assuming TBE retires in September) and would be the biggest star in the sport of boxing. It is worth the risk. You have to take risks to become great.
So they can fight chavez jr at 168 but ward at 164? Isnt GGG this super human boxer that destroyes and can fight from 154-168? This bull **** double standars suck. He and his team said catchweights were wack when cotto beat geale but now they ask for one? **** i cant wait till this guys gets beaten so the hype can end.
It's called MONEY. A PPV fight. Something a Ward fight would not bring to the table at this time. If a boxer is going to move from his division and put his career at risk he should be rewarded accordingly for it. No one is claiming any different. It is only Ward fans who think he brings a lot of money to the table. So much money that his last fight was a time buy on BET in front of a crowd where about half of the people got their tickets for free.
Ward brings nothing to the table at this point in time and he is the one who needs GGG and Kovalev, they do not need him.
Fine, then say this about GGG and stop trying to justify what is painfully obvious to anyone who isn't completely and utterly in love with GGG-he isn't about taking on the best he is about making the most money.
He will deviate from his goals to get paid but not to take the fight we all want. That is the only thing many of us have been saying.
Had he said -"I'll fight only money fights at 154 and 168", then I and others would have nothing to say.

new name, same quality posts.
Prove you are the best in the world by beating Ward, not by winning an NSB poll.
A source with knowledge of the situation has advised BoxingScene.com that a potential fight between Andre Ward and Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin is being held up by the weight.
From what BoxingScene was told, Golovkin's side is insisting on a catch-weight of 164-pounds.
There have been conversations between Roc Nation Sports (who have Ward) and K2 Promotions (who have Golovkin), but those discussions have gone absolutely nowhere because the two sides are unable to get past the issue of weight.
