Is it now safe to say that Mayweather is the greatest fighter of his generation?

    1. Mayweather
    2. Pacquiao
    3. Hopkins

However, I always find it hard to pinpoint "generations" because a lot of great/good fighters/fights overlap within each other. Take De La Hoya for example, he was in the era with the likes of Camacho, Chavez, and Whitaker. Then his era moved into one with Trinidad, Quartey, Vargas, ect. However, one can also say he was in Pacquiao and Mayweather's era. It gets too blurry if you try to break it down, that's why I prefer to rank fighters by decades.

Mayweather ducked Khan 4 times, the question we need to ask is can he even be considered a top 100 ATG due to that blatant ducking?

I just watched Mayweather get outdone by a couple of rounds by a guy with one arm out of action.

The fight proved ALMOST conclusively that Manny Pacquaio is not only the greatest fighter of our generation, but..

Manny Pacquaio is now PROVEN (albeit by a robbery) to be the greatesty lb for lb boxer of all time! And it isn't even really disputable because we have had a total breakdown and analysis, which shows it any which way you slice it!

        ^Fact!

Like someone said, it's difficult to define generations, as Bhop, Holy, Lewis, Tsyon, RJJ and DLH overlap multiple generations, add in names like Chavez and Whitaker who fought throughout the 80s and 90s, then you have guys like Mayweather, Pacquiao, Barrera and co crossing through the 90s into the 00s and now into 10s...what's a generation exactly?

Imo, we'd have to rank fighters by decades and Pacquiao would be the best of the previous decade. Mayweather may be edging this decade but guys like Kovalev, Walters, Crawford and GGG may still have a say. Going back to the 90s, that may well belong to Holy, DLH or a few others but definitely not Mayweather or Pacquiao.

          So there you have it.

Notice only the butt hurt fans are disagreeing.

Mayweather easily beat everyone they put him in front of him. Whether you like him or not it's hard to dispute he's highly skilled. No one can say the people he didn't fight had any chance of beating him. If you were bored by any of his fights, that only means the one you picked to beat him lost.

Pacquiao is close but his losses speak volumes in comparison to Mayweather.
