  • Is it now safe to say that Mayweather is the greatest fighter of his generation?

I think so.....He started boxing in the mid to late 90's

guys like Jones and Hopkins were still young and in their prime and even improving as fighters....both started as pros in the 80's though

Mayweather's generation includes guys that were born in the 1970's-early 80's Trinidad, ODLH, Mosley, Cotto, Judah, Fernando Vargas, Wladimir Klitschko, Manny Pacquaio, Ricky Hatton, etc

He has the best resume IMO of the generation....,most lineal titles, title defenses, defeated the most champions and titlists

He has nothing left to prove and is actually fighting during the infancy of a new generation that is headed by Andre Ward, Thurman, GGG, etc

He's very carefully chosen all his opponents. REALLY great fighters take risks from time to time, fight in foreign countries, don't need shady home refs and don't wait until boxers are shot before fighting them!!!
who is then???? please don't say someone he has defeated already

Yeah he chose his opponents after chasing the big names and fighting for lineal titles since 1998.....dude wasn't even a big name until 2005 and didn't pick his opponents until 2009....were you even following boxing back then??? ODLH called the shots, was the cash cow and cherry picked....Mayweather was trying to prove himself

Nobody wanted to fight a prime Mayweather and he still has a better resume than anyone you'd try to dig up

Any doubts were done away with May 2nd. The real question is who rates higher between Manny and BHop.
