Miguel Cotto would have been a more lucrative fight than Ricky Hatton.

But I'm sure Floyd was fine with Margarito and Cotto beating the snot out of each other.

Then again, he wouldn't have fought them anyway. They were both with Top Rank.
The division had talent, that is true. Margs, PWill, Cintron are quality professionals, but get the "didn't fight Floyd" bump on NSB. Without that "bump" they are solid, good, big WW's that were never great.

Is there anything wrong with cotto/margs fighting a unification bout at that point? Perhaps had Bob just paid Floyd what he wanted, the fights would've happened, although I think Floyd had made his mind up that he was "under paid" and was going after ODH no matter what.

I believe Bob chose not to pay Floyd the purse he wanted for the Cotto fight, so while "on paper" I would agree it would've been more lucrative, in reality the fight was impossible to make at that point.

Floyd was not with Arum in 2008.

Miguel Cotto had fought his entire career in the US and was selling out Madison Square Garden. He had just beaten Shane Mosley - it was THE fight to make in boxing and would have been more lucrative than Hatton-Mayweather.

Arum fighters were still fighting Golden Boy fighters at that time and for at least another year.

I know dirk, he refused to pay him before that, which resulted in the split. I just assumed we were on the same page and I didn't need to state that. My mistake.

Floyd was not a GoldenBoy fighter, they just promoted his fights, but Floyd was at odds with Arum who still owed him money for the Judah fight
