There's no rule that I know of. I think the problem might possibly be that Andre hasn't had his couple of tune ups yet or even decided whether he is staying at 168 or moving up to 175.

I also think that he and Gennady would probably want paying to fight each other too, but you never know. If you send them both a "pretty please" email then maybe they'll do it for free, just to make you happy.

Leapai and Ousthuezin are top 10 ranked opponents, the same thing being said about Gaele and Murray. I am just pointing out that koing atop 10 ranked fighter is not compelling in and of itself.

HWT's are different and Tyson could get fights.

It's simple-what is ok for GGG to do when he doesn't get what he wants? you say-stay busy fights are ok. I say, fuck those and make tougher fights even if it means going to 168.
He tried to get Chavez and Froch, without success, and Ward isn't ready for a meaningful fight yet. Couple of tune ups first, remember.

Now he's so close to the WBC and lineal titles, and maybe Lemieux after that, I think GGG should keep going at MW. His fan base and wages are getting bigger with every fight and it seems that, along with Floyd, he is the most talked about man in the sport right now. Why risk blowing all that progress by moving up to 168, just when he seems to be getting somewhere in his natural division?

Made a small correction for you.

lol, boxing is the only individual sport where people fall for the hype so easily.

Floyd just beat the #2 p4p, the best opponent available since he is #1. GGG destroyed two guys that are probably not in the top 50 p4p, and this guy is co-fighter of the year ?! wtf.

It's like giving tennis player of the year to Djokovic for beating Federer and Nadal and having a co-player of the year to somebody who just destroyed Delbonis and Zverev without loosing a set (#73 and #74 in the ATP rankings...)

Fortunately, there is no such thing as a half-year fighter of the year. I don't think the authors list is meant to be taken too seriously and I'm sure if the year ended right now, which it didn't, the author would choose Floyd as the true and only fighter of the year. No one is wresting that (real) award away from Floyd, assuming he wins his next fight of course.
