But seeing how we’re in sort of a down week between marquee-level events, it’s a pretty good opportunity to regather, take a deep breath and reflect on the first six months of Boxing 2015.

In this space, we do that in the form of awards.

A quick look back at my pre-year prediction column has revealed almost nothing worth rehashing – Stiverne by KO over Wilder, really Lyle? – so we’ll go ahead and greet the halfway mark instead by proclaiming the best of the best of what we’ve seen since December pages flipped to January.

Without further ado, here goes…

COMEBACK OF THE MID-YEAR: Andre Ward
All Andre Ward really had to do was show up.

Martin Murray is a can? Monroe is a can? One being a top ranked MW, who arguably won the lineal title against Martinez, the other a solid up and comer with good skills and neither had been stopped before Golovkin. Obviously they aren't elite, but if we're going to throw around the term can everyone's a can then.

One being a top ranked MW, who arguably won the lineal title against Martinez, the other a solid up and comer with good skills and neither had been stopped before Golovkin. exactly they are not elite and he get "co fighter" of the mid year lol...one guy beat the p4p 2....sergey kovalev is more deserving for KO'ing pascal..u talk murray beathgin sergio, so i hope u're not the same guy who rakes cotto for stopping him post surgery...arguably is not good enough when u're fightin a cripple bro..dont play rating play p4p..gary russell stopped a champion..right? why not him?? 2 cans better than a champ lol??

if u're not elite and u fight an elite fighter he will prove to you that you are a can..and that he has no business fighting you or getting credit like "co fighter of the year " for it

manny recently defeated a p4p number 3 as well right? top 10 ww..took his belt didnt he...beat a guy who classed marquez...there is nothing that prove GGG has the timing of floyd or marquez to beat a manny type at his division..

exactly..can beating shouldnt get that type of recognition..they were very lazy with this list...i'd give povetkin, gary russell, shawn porter, sergey kovalev, and mabye more over him for that title..
