I thought ok, cool, they don't want to throw him in with Ward yet cos he's young and there's time but what the hell are they waiting for?

You're saying I'm ****** but I'm just quoting what Tom Loeffler said when asked if they would fight Ward shortly after Ward beat Rodriguez. "Gennady would need a huge chunk of the money, it doesn't make financial sense" - I just don't understand what he had ever done to deserve that lofty status and why they think they will only consider PPV for some fights. Who do they think they are?
They don't get it. Its the "killer" who "cant get guys to fight him" using the high risk/low reward scenario. Pure bullshit imo

He has to go back to his roots and invite them all over to Kazakhstan for a BBQ and then when they are walking down the street, he has to run over and beat them down in the middle of the street the way his brothers taught him to do as a kid. That is the only chance he will ever have for most of those so called 'fighters' having the balls to fight him. He has to get them where and when they have no choice in the matter. Because otherwise, they will continue to avoid and run away from him and refuse to face him in the ring. They will always find an excuse that their fans will happily accept.
or he could just take short money and make the fight happen.

GGG fans like to ignore this. But when a guy like Lemiuex or someone says "if the money is right", they're "scared cowards ducking" etc etc.

A hometown US decision that he lost by one or two points during pre-Olympic trials. A fight that most observers say GGG actually won easily.

Why should GGG, the man who EVERY fighter is using to get their own names in the media, be the one to take short money? And that was actually offered to Cotto in the past, in fact Loeffler stated publicly that they approached Cotto's people and told them they were willing to accept any concessions they requested and still never received a reply. People do not want to fight Golovkin because they know they will lose and that it will not be a pretty loss or a close loss. It will be a beating.

Please dude, stop over exaggerating things. Nobody is using his name for publicity. Lets stop making him out to be something he hasn't proven he is yet.

He wouldn't be the 1st nor the last fighter to take short money to get what he wants.

Of course Cotto because Cotto is a smaller, older fighter who they see as easy pickings and easy money.

They weren't willing to take short money to fight Andre Ward.

I guess Carl Froch was easy pickings & easy money. Same with Sergio Martinez when he was on top. Dmitry Pirog as well.

We already went over Ward - dude said Golovkin needed to beat some top guys before he'd fight him, he wasn't interested. Then a year later he had a tune up and said he'd love to fight Golovkin and proceeded to exile himself from boxing for 2 years, even stating at one point he didn't know if he'd ever come back. But keep acting like that fight was possible.

In the past 12 months, GGG has fought...
-Willie Monroe Jr was rated #2 by the WBA (Naba title holder)
                    -Martin Murray #5
-Rubio #5, for god knows what reason
-Daniel Geale #3 (PanAf title holder)
(WBA's site has a historical ratings search, if you wish to confirm)

I won't pretend that these are huge name fighters, but frankly middleweight doesn't have huge names to offer. Especially when you have champs like Quillin who expects a fight between he and GGG to build up to May/Pac levels somehow, Lemieux who ODLH pretty adamantly wants to hold off on fighting GGG etc etc. Most people **** on GGG for his previous fights against Adama and Stevens, which were agreeably weak picks but which shouldn't matter much anymore.

GGG is staying active and fighting rated contenders while pursuing the big fights. Hopefully he'll get Canelo or Ward sometime soon... because we can pretty much count out Froch, Mayweather, Cotto, Quillin, Lemieux and most other fights as they are likely not coming into fruition (or at least not any time soon for some of them).

So.... how is this comparable to Lacy?

GG is a fighter who will never dare to be great. He'll be content to finish out his career over the next few years against tomato cans he is a 200/1 favourite to beat. The Ward fight could have been made, GG priced himself out.
