That's not bad for BET on a Saturday night in the summer. I thought the fight was more tolerable than Broner-Porter honestly.

He went MIA because he was obviously having legal issues with his promotional banner.

Wasn't GGG going through the same thing at one point in his career? Again, where was GGG when Ward was making a name for himself?

Ward may not have set the boxing world on fire in the last two years, but his career spans longer than two years.

The fact is Ward has accomplished more than GGG on the amateur and professional level.

Daniel Geale and Kassim Ouma are the most notable names on his resume.

Beating Carl Froch alone overshadows GGG's entire professional career. Do you realize that?

GGG is supposedly the bigger draw. Cool. Let HBO work the numbers, pay GGG more, give Ward is respectable share and make the fight happen. No excuses.
except ward thinks he's the bigger draw and deserves more and with a 2 million dollar guarantee the fight being on regular hbo is all but impossible. you should be blaming ward for being so selfish and having a deal that makes no sense given his status.

It was a much more entertaining fight to me than Porter-Broner.

Ward at least exhibited a high level of technical skill. His jab was piston like and he controlled the fight with it. He got hit more than usual, but he was rusty so I expected that.

Want to go through the list of amateurs Golovkin fought and defeated? Ward's amateur career is not even close to GGG's.

Froch...Froch... rings a bell... oh yeah! That's the guy GGG was trying to fight but who vanished from the face of the earth instead!

Ward - Golovkin will be a PPV fight or it will not happen. Accept it. You have no choice. The only way it may one day be a fight on regular HBO will be after GGG has unified the MW titles and moves up to SMW permanently. If you expect it before then, don't hold your breath. It has been stated very clearly for over two years now, GGG WILL ONLY CHANGE DIVISIONS FOR A PPV FIGHT. If you can't get that through your head, that is your own fault, no one else's.

He does deserve more than 2.2 mill for fighting GGG. HBO has hyped GGG for years now. You have to pay Andre Ward more than that. He's earned it.

And if Ward has to take 2.2 mill then the fight should be in Oakland.

GGG has beaten nobody of worth. He's not proven. He cannot dictate every level of the negotiations. Otherwise Andre is correct not to fight GGG.

Andre has options north of his division.

GGG on the other hand is at the will and mercy of Cotto and Canelo.

I haven't said a thing about regular HBO or PPV so I don't know why you're discussing that topic.

Ward won gold in the US Olympics. That trumps anything GGG has accomplished in his amateur career.

I don't care where Ward vs GGG happens, PPV, Regular HBO, BET, etc...

I just want the fight promoted properly and made. Period.

Not too bright, are you Hector? Golovkin was in Germany. Boxing is an INTERNATIONAL sport you know, it happens outside of Oakland as well. Quite often as a matter of fact. And Golovkin had REAL problems with his promoter. Things like breach of contract. He didn't have someone like Goosen getting him preferential treatment and then stab him in the back like that ingrate Andre Ward. And Golovkin won his court case and his freedom, he did not need to have some rich rapper bail him out by buying his contract out and settling his court cases for him.

You're emotionally tied to GGG. I see that now. Have a good day.
