So Canelo on the show with the cable tv premiere of May-Pac did better than Cotto Geale by itself. Not surprising at all.

Yeah but the tickets were $5 with a free sombrero for that fight

Real talk there's no reason why they shouldn't split everything right down the middle, neither guy is Floyd or Manny for that matter.

You realize that Canelo/Kirkland was #1 fight in terms of viewership on HBO in 9 years? How can Miguel Cotto be the A-side?

Puerto Rican population in the U.S. around 5 million.

A popular mexican boxer should always have more tv viewers and sell more tickets.

They also had a 24/7 for Canelo vs. Kirkland.

Either way, both fighters need each other for that mega payday.

Cotto needs Canelo just as bad to stay away from the Big Bad Wolf (GGG). Cotto has an expensive contract with Roc Nation and they want results and revenue. And what exactly were Cotto's terms that you claim Alvarez has agreed to? Or is this just fanboy talk?

Yeah I'm worried this fight might not actually come off. Judging by comments from both sides in this thread, I smell a a clash of divas that don't want to give an inch. Hope I'm wrong as I really want to see this fight.

A few things the die hards for both guys need to accept.

                1. Neither guy is the A side. Compromise will be needed.

                2. Neither guy really needs the other. Cotto is obviously a HoF'er no matter what. Canelo is 24 and has years ahead of him. Would Cotto on his resume be nice? Sure, but it is'nt a neccessity.

                3. Both guys can pretty much fight whoever they want and still get paid.

                  what are you talking about?
there aren't much more than 300 million people living in america.

undocumented workers / immigrants from mexico number several million. but they don't exactly drive ppv sales, and there certainly aren't 300 million of them.

I scratched my head here as well. Maybe he just added an extra zero to 300 on accident lol.
