People thought PBC would crush HBO, and HBO has out out the best ratings it has in years since PBC has been rolled out.

And Showtime boxing is damn near dead.

The money should be split right down the middle.

Both fighters have had great HBO ratings. Their last PPV was around 350K for both. It's the biggest fight both can make, and HBO is pushing for this fight to happen.

It will be 50/50. I can see Cotto conceding on the date, with Canelo conceding on the venue.

Once it's on, I can sense this is going to be a FOY candidate.
The date/venue go hand-in-hand. Cotto likes fighting in June @MSG because of the Rican Parade. Canelo likes to fight on the Mexican holidays in Texas because of the Mexican population. I would like Canelo to swallow his pride and fight in June 11th in NYC. According to the 2010 Census, there's 300k+ Mexicans living in NYC, so I'm sure there will be a mixed crowd. However, this fight should happen in the biggest venue possible and IDK how expensive a NY stadium fight would be.

Is that a shock? That is Miguel Cotto! When doesn't he draw good ratings when fighting on HBO? I know we have new fans who are In Love with GGG and I get that GGG is a good exciting fighter but Cotto is Cotto. He has his following and he is a draw on his own, he doesn't need GGG or Canelo, they both need him a lot more than he needs them. Like I posted in another thread, Cotto can fight me at Barclay or MSG and it would sell out and draw huge ratings because Cotto has a strong following still despite all of the this sudden HATE for him

I'm not mexican. lol Has nothing to do with Mexico or Puerto Rico it's about Cotto and his fans talking all year about A side this and that and now it's very clear if they fight Canelo is the A side. He has the better ratings, attendance ect. He's the bigger Star and bigger draw. That's just a fact at this point.

I don't compare numbers using Floyds name. His only PPV over 300k was with Floyd. His huge rating... was with Floyd being the opening act. FFS... Half the people who tuned into Canelo were already watching the Floyd fight lol. If you take that out Canelo got like a 1.1.

I'm not saying the kid isn't a draw, but can we stop using Floyd's numbers to pump him up please?

And? The nosebleeds for Cotto were the same as the good seats for Canelo. I'm not saying one is better than the other, but I am saying cheap ass tickets make it much easier to inflate the numbers.

there is a huge difference from the nosebleeds at minute maid or at barclays, no way they should cost the same, cotto sold 12k at regular price , canelo sold from 20k to 25k at regular price the rest were cheap prices, still double the attendance at regular price, so even if you ignore the $10 tickets , the attendance was almost double than cotto... but again people talking like canelo can only sell cheap tickets but ignore the fact he can sell out the mgm any given day vs a noname fighter...

Cotto has sold out MSG 11 times, this is the first time Cotto didn't put more than 20k+ on his fight...
