While Cotto's amateur career was pretty good it is nowhere near GGG's amateur career. Cotto was 125-23 with one Silver medal while GGG was 345-5 with 3 Gold medals and one Silver medal.
As for the middleweight title, any fighter that fights at middleweight would give a ****. That is the whole reason fighters fight other than money, to prove they are the best which is what GGG is trying to do at 160lbs, you can't blame the guy for doing just that. As for Floyd fighting Baldomir that is exactly what he had to do. If you are the #1 then you should be willing to fight all comers, if not then drop the title and move on.
