Cotto was an accomplished amatuer himself. The fact is he's a surefire HOF'r, and the same age as GGG, a glorified prospect.

As for the middleweight title, who gives a ****. Fighters make titles, not visa versa. Since when did the lineal title become so important? Floyd is criticized to this day for fighting Baldomir for the lineal welterweight title. And for my money, Cotto is worst as thr middleweight champion than Baldomir was as welterweight champion.

While Cotto's amateur career was pretty good it is nowhere near GGG's amateur career. Cotto was 125-23 with one Silver medal while GGG was 345-5 with 3 Gold medals and one Silver medal.

As for the middleweight title, any fighter that fights at middleweight would give a ****. That is the whole reason fighters fight other than money, to prove they are the best which is what GGG is trying to do at 160lbs, you can't blame the guy for doing just that. As for Floyd fighting Baldomir that is exactly what he had to do. If you are the #1 then you should be willing to fight all comers, if not then drop the title and move on.

Cotto didn't fall into the cherry picking realm until he went to Roach/wild card. Don't worry now cotto looks like a killer just like Pac did for years from choosing the right opponents. I'm not saying Geale will win (I don't believe he will) but if any of you think for one second Cotto will ever be allowed in the ring with GGG or even Canelo are insane. Roach knows both will beat up and stop cotto. I'm thinking roach will guide cotto to a Floyd 2 fight in September because he is so sore from losing he desp wants another shot at Money. I see you have an issue with reading comprehension, no where did I ever say anyone should massage anyone's balls. All I did was state the reason as to each of the fighter's age in comparison to their resume, I was not justifying GGG's resume I was only stating the facts.

Maybe belts do mean more to me as they are supposed to be the symbol of who the real champion(s) is/are. Like I stated before I do not blame the fighters entirely for the state of the organizations lack of backbone to do what is ethically right by the fans and their own rules but fighters have no problem taking advantage as Cotto is doing. You are correct in that you don't need to hold the belt to know who can fight and who can't but unless fighters actually get into the ring we can only argue and imagine who will win.

What does Cotto fighting Geale have to do with GGG's resume? Cotto could fight Quillin and still say GGG's resume is ****, because it is. That's no one's fault because the MW division is **** but GGG's resume is crap because of it.

So is Canelo's his best wins are B class fighters in Trout and Lara. He also only fought 1 of them at JMW... in fact, he's only fought 1 JMW at JMW. Prior to that at 154 he fought nothing but WW's and even a JWW in Lopez. Now he's a MW picking on JMW's, it's his thing and you guys fall for it. Sad...

Also, Cotto may be fighting GGG's leftovers but that's much better than facing Ishada's leftovers. And really, Cotto's resume is the one who speaks for itself.

Golovkin was just a few months into his 22nd birthday, not much older than a teenager. It's rare when 17 or even 18 year olds make it to the Olympics now a days. The youngest boxers are usually 19 or 20.
Getting a Silver Medal is better than getting no medals, you act like not getting a Gold medal is a failure. Even making the Olympics is a huge accomplishment, let alone getting a Silver Medal at the FREAKING Olympics.
