That's hard to accomplish. There's probably less than 10 fighters in history who started at 154 or 160 who even got two-three titles in three divisions.
Golovkin is already 32 which makes it tougher. James Toney was the last guy to ever start at 154 or 160 in his career and get three titles.
Nobody sees Golovkin beating Toney prime for prime either.Comment

"How was Cotto reluctant?"
Are you joking? Is that a joke question? You may not agree that Cotto was reluctant but you certainly know the reasons why people think he was/is!
I already explained to you earlier. You can disagree that's your view but don't ask why, you know why!
You know exactly what Cotto is getting ABUSED over!Comment

That is your opinion & yes you should care & it does matter because Cotto has a proven track record of fighting anyone.Comment

Kirkland's loss to Ishida was his only one at the time, and regarded as an oddity. He was still feared by the time he fought Canelo. No one knew what to expect, including you.Comment

It fkn is true LOL
Golovkin has fought nobody.
If he cherry-picks old, come-forward, one-leg-out-the-door, Froch..... then he most fkn definitely will need to validate himself by fighting Ward LOL.
Are you serious ?
If you think that Cotto has to "validate" himself against Golovkin, then after Froch, you bet your live that Hypekin will have to fight Ward next.
The blatant bias toward Golovkin - who has done NOTHING - is sickening !Comment

Cotto is on an ATG ducking streak. Just look at this:
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?hum...3535&cat=boxer
His "Reign" at 154: 3 injured retirees. He managed to become champion and defend the belt while ducking the ENTIRE division, every serious competitor was avoided.
Now he is doing the same thing at 160. After beating crippled retiring Martinez at a catchweight, he is fighting Geale the shellshocked retiring leftovers of the actual champion, at a catchweight.
It has been 8 years since Cotto beat Shane Mosely. Since then he has done absolutely nothing of note other than be from the right country.
How can you honestly criticize Golovkin's resume when losing a split decision to Clottey was the pinnacle of your entire career? Wanna run through that list and check for yourself? It's true.Last edited by ////; 06-02-2015, 06:22 PM.Comment

Cotto waited until the deadline just to say "no". He didn't give Canelo any room for further negotiations. ODH even said they felt Cotto just wasn't going to work to make the fight, so they walked.

Ishida is a light puncher ffs. "an oddity"Comment
