I don't know why people are getting all worked up. He wins and then negotiates with Canelo. Isn't that the gameplan? What, people want him to lose before we see that or something?

Cotto has paid his dues and now has the upper hand at middle. I don't think he's in a rush to fight GGG but I wouldn't be surprised if he makes that fight if the Canelo fight doesn't come to fruition. He's never said he doesn't want that fight but he has set one term (catchweight). Crap if true but he could've said something worse like, "maybe in a couple years." He's even got an outside shot at getting a Mayweather rematch or who knows? Him and Lee would sell well at Barclays. Let him get his tuneup in and hopefully we don't get a Trout redux. I don't mind Canelo-Kirkland and Cotto-Geale if Cotto-Canelo is next.
The thing is that he is forcing a career MW Down in weight at this point in time. Had Cotto taken this gimme fight say 6 months ago, few would have raised an eyebrow, but him keeping the belt hostage in this rather de****able fashion is disrespectful to the sport and shows a lack of integrity I did not expect from a normally classy guy like Cotto.

When Martinez was lineal champ, he lost to Cotto !

Why have you decided to confuse the issue with another silly fanboy accolade?

        The only thing more over-rated than " lineal "..... is " P4P ".

Good luck arguing with me about something that is completely subjective.

Who is currently the best fighter at 175 ?

The belt is worthless, so he is disrespecting nothing.

Are the WBC respecting Klitschko, by not ranking him in their top-10 ?

You rating a worthless belt ahead of a proven legend who has earned his position, and ahead of an undeserving hypejob who is preying on smaller name fighters like Canelo/Mayweather/Cotto, is more disrespectful to the sport imho.
