The black eye Groves got is the result of one punch to the nose. Releases blood through to the eye region extremely easy.

The black eye Dirrell has would be the result of hard trauma caused to the side of the face consistently which has caused multiple bruises on top and below the side of the eye where the skin is thicker, therefore harder to bruise.

But hey, Groves was schooled for sure though.
