Floyds last fight in his prime?

mayweather was a beast at 140. that is really his optimum weight where he actually had power. 147 is beyond his best weight and he loses so many advantages due to fighting at a weight that is really above what he should be fighting at. He could still make 140 if he had to but why would he when all the money is at 147 and he is still good enough to beat all comers there. I'd say the slowdown against Hatton compared to Gatti was more due to him fighting above his optimum weight and less due to decline. Obviously Mayweather is past his prime now, fighting at a weight where he doesn't have punching power and still beating guys. He's retiring in September so he might as well go out with a **** and fight Thurman.Comment

I love how they all act like 147 is his only weight class. Morons. Not sure why folks even reply to dude. And of course those were good wins for Manny because they were sooooo much bigger than Manny. But let's not mention the catch weights they invovled. Or let's not mention that Floyd started at 130 and fought all the way up to 154. Nah, Floyd's been fighting little guys his whole career!Comment

I would say Mayweather vs Marquez, he came back from his retirement, and started fighting in a different way, like staying in the pocket, the way he played chess against Marquez and left him puzzled for 12 rounds.
That's when I thought he was in his prime. He didn't have to use his legs as much and he made it look easy. I was like this guy is in his prime right now. He could use his legs or he can just stay in the pocket.Comment

I say the cotto fight. he still looked great in that fight in my opinion, great speed, actually threw combinations, beautiful turns and upper body movements, got tagged a bit but thats cause cotto can actually cut the ring and he also has a nice jab. Then after the Cotto fight and his jail stint he started his decline, he looked a lil stiff in the r. gurerro fight.Comment
