Fights are scored by scoring individual rounds.

The fact that a bunch of sheep on here said they scored it for Rahman (when the majority of them watch a fight without writing their score down and just deciding what their score card was when the fight's over) means nothing.

Toney's clean and effective punching was more telling than Rahman's jabbing and reluctnce to throw his right hand.

The fight was a draw, not a loss, and it was an exciting fight beyond all the crying about Toney's shape.

It was ok... though I would not want to see it again.

I would rather see Toney fight for the IBF, WBO, or WBA next...

well, firstly, i believe upon winning the belt(or in rahman's case a sparring match with barrett) that you are allowed an optional title defence - the toney/rahman fight. next, maskaev is a mandatory and by the rule books does have the right to fight rahman next. that i don't mind very much.

thing i don't like - the wbc issuing a rematch with toney as mandatory after the maskaev/rahman fight. hasim should be entitled to more options in IMO. that's, if he does win that fight.

i think the wbo and ibf belts have the best chances of being unified in the near future. maybe, the wba might also be included in that mix.

I'll be the first to say that Toney could have easily won this fight if he was in shape. Rahman completely outworked Toney and pushed him back. That has to be the deciding factor in such a close fight. My problem with Toney is that he cheated to beat Ruiz which he would have beaten anyways if he was in shape but wasn't. Then he gets rewarded by the wbc with a title shot. Then he comes in out of shape and should have won easily but didn't. Now he is getting another reward for being a lazy bum instead of the great fighter that he is. They should make Toney fight his way back to teach him to do things the right way, by earning it.

When's the last time a Heavyweight fight had 1500+ punches thrown?

Too many people were caught up crying about Toney's weight to notice that there was a pretty exciting fight going on.

The fight was ok, the only thing I found exciting was that there would be a winner, NOT A DRAW. The last thing this ****in division needed.

You keep neglecting the fact the fight was a draw.

Once again, fights are scored by scoring individual rounds. I highly doubt you even sat down and scored it round by round, because everything you've said so far has been garbage and non sense.

Dispite beign in poor shape, Toney threw 650 + punches, well above the Heavyweight average, and he had Rahman hesitant to fight on the inside, or to throw his right hand. If Rahman's not throwing his right, and not pressing forward with his size, what's he doing that's so effective? Jabbing, which doesn't outweight Toney's clean and effective punching in a majority of the rounds.

It was a tight fight to score, and one deserving of a rematch.

So how did Maskaev get this fight? Is it just that his promoter paid off the WBC??

They want to collect those fee's.

He fought in an elimination fight with the WBC international champion.
