I would rather see a unification fight after this...

They love their sactioning fees, I'll tell ya...
Idiotic/corrupt judging and greedy sanctioning bodies are why boxing is a bottom tier sport. Sad.
Toney will probably have plenty of time to properly stack and complete a cycle this time, however. He should be able to set up a perfect cycle and test clean, knowing this far ahead of time almost exactly when the rematch should occur once they set the Maskaev bout.
And Maskaev does deserve a shot?
You are so full of **** it's not even funny.Comment

What was the point of Maskeav getting a title shot.Originally posted by NautilusWhat is the point of giving Toney another shot at the winner of this match?
The Rahman Toney fight was a draw. They need to settle it, and that's why it was ordered that the winner of this fight should face Toney.Comment

Why settle it? Rahman has defended his title. That's it. Let's see some unification next.Comment

If you were worried about unification you wouldn't have a hard on for Maskaev fighting.
Toney and Rahman fought to a draw. They should have settled it striaght away without Maskaev being anywhere near a title shot.Comment

The wbc must really want Toney as champ. First letting him leapfrog over the #1 Maskaev, then the gift draw, now making Toney the mandatory for the winner. I agree with Toney getting that roid cycle in too. I bet he comes in ripped in his next fight.Comment

Is it any coincidence there's a bunch of Klitscko Nut Huggers who have no problem with Maskaev's #1 rank in the 1st place?
It's far and away the most suspect thing to do with this topic.Comment

agreed. the WBC has been forcing the fights THEY want to see, ordering immediate rematches and **** like that. Three bogus decisions in one year.Originally posted by boxing2005Where is the unification that everybody talked about? How can WBC rule that the winner MUST face Toney, doesn't a champion get at least one fight before fighting a mandatory? This is just pathetic.
1. ORDERING Corrales to defend against Castillo due to "controversial victory"
2. ORDERING Taylor's first defense against Winky Wright. BULL****
3. ORDERING a rematch after Toney blew his chanceComment

Um, in case you missed it, Toney JUST GOT A SHOT. Came in looking like ****, fought like ****, etc. So what I am talking about is whether that performance earns him a rematch. Maskaev won an eliminator to get his shot, and we have yet to see how he will do.Originally posted by Bozo_no noAnd Maskaev does deserve a shot?

I think you are confused. One has nothing to do with the other.Comment

Toney does not deserve a rematch. Just because the challenger gets a draw does not rule him worthy of a rematch. That's trash, and I'm a huge Toney fan.Comment
