I don't see anybody drawing like Mayweather or Pacquiao anytime soon but I do think Canleo will be that next PPV Draw because of his Mexican Fan Base. Canelo vs Cotto and Canelo vs GGG are the only PPV Worthy Events I can think of in boxing at the moment that doesn't include Mayweather of Pacquiao. Only concern about Canelo is that I'm not sure if he has the talent to maintain at the top of his Division without questionable decisions and being matched up carefully by Oscar

Wilder of course because he is a in shape American Heavyweight with Power so that instantly grabs the attention of Casuals in America.

Not for long ... the blueprint on him is basic. simple movement and he doesn't know what to do. He would need to avoid a whole bunch of guys to stay winning. Monroe who fought GGG wouldve given him fits... Southpaw with movement who's a little bigger than Lara

Pacquiao smiles, goes into the ring, fights whatever Top Rank puts in front of him, and goes away.
And that's what Top Rank will tell fighters who are interested in becoming PPV fighters.

As for "hitching" to Mayweather, let's be fair here, Mayweather and Pacquiao both became PPV stars after fighting DLH.

They were both fighting primarily in the sub-400k buy range pre-DLH (though the Pac-Marquez rematch did about 400k).

And in fact, Pacquiao had more PPV main events and more PPV buys in his career prior to DLH than Mayweather had prior to DLH.

Mayweathers pre-DLH PPV career was Gatti, Judah, Baldomir.

Pacquiao had three PPV fights with Morales, PPV fights with Barrera and Marquez, among others all before DLH.

Beating Oscar definitely helped (what version of Oscar actually showed up for the fight, after he weighed in at 145, is another question), but if not for the hype machine and the matchmaking (outside of Hatton, who in hindsight ended up having an apparently unproductive fight camp, the next five fights were all supposed to be cakewalks for Pacquiao against compromised fighters), Pacquiao would've never launched.

He can barely deliver an interview in English now, and this is nearly a decade after he started to bubble.
