What's with the questions on his resume?

He takes, unlike most top guys today, stay busy fights in between title fights. They're always going to be against softer opposition.

However, he has fought top guys in every division and only just moved up to 112 four or so fights ago. Give it time for ****s sake. He's already fought Yaegashi and Sosa, current champion and long time, great former champion, still a top contender.

At 105: Niida who was a 2 x champ and the longest reigning champ at 105 with about 10 defences from memory.

Takayama who was a champion, and afterward went on to become a 5 x 105 unified champ.

At 108: Rodriguez Jr who unified at 105 straight after this loss and at only 21 hasn't lost since. Good fighter.

    Ramon Garcia, 108 WBO champion.

    Estrada, current 112 champ.

At 112: Yaegashi and Sosa. Current champion and great former champion.

That's along with a bunch of non title, stay busy fights. If he didn't keep up with top fights in between then yeah, it'd suck but he's beating the top guys in each division he's been in and only just started at 112.

What am I missing about Edgar Sosa being a former great champion?

Even if he was, he's finished now.

A lot of those little guys are very overrated IMO. Segura made his name by beating a shot Calderon. Viloria then made his name by beating Segura. In my eyes Viloria is one of the most overrated fighters in modern times, the fact some people had him on their P4P list is a joke.

As for Gonzalez fighting Segura. I don't want to see that. Estrada just knocked him out.
He's not the first champion in history to fight opponents below the top 5 mark though, and Segura/Sosa are ranked top 10 by pretty much everyone even if they are past prime.

He wont get away with doing it for long though. Estrada, Ruenrong, Ioka, Mthanlane etc need to be made soon. I dont see there being enough interest for HBO to have him on the Leo Santa Cruz path.

Nah I'm not saying that's the case.

His competion isnt bad. He has a good resume so far.

Sosa and Segura aren't good enough though IMO but if they're Top 10 you can't complain that much.

Anyone that is a potential opponent for Gonzalez at Flyweight not named Estrada ( who already has been defeated by Choco) is considered a bum ; despite Seguras # 6 ranking he is considered insignificant - his recent opponent (Sosa) is top 10! do you all have a problem that chocolatito destroys another division? maybe so.....

The reason why people would like to see a rematch is because at that time, Estrada was 20 years old, he had faced limited opposition and had to drop to 108 pounds to face roman g and gave him a hell of a fight. At this present time, estrada is about 24 is in his natural weight and has fought good competition, not to mention he is the unified champion.

                      Amnat
                      Reveco

You're acting like there's no one there to fight, roman hasn't fought one top ten guy in ages aside from akira.

Both Ioka & Reveco blatantly ducked Gonzalez when those matchups were most viable and there's nothing to suggest that they'd be willing to fight him now.

It was a surprise because Estrada was relatively unknown, untested at that particular weight class and was the last man to last a full fight against Roman. Since then Estrada has faced Viloria, Segura, Melindo, Mepranum and overall better opposition than Roman himself.

After claiming he wanted the rematch, Roman wanted an unheard of purse for a rematch of 1 million dollars, hence it falling through. Now that Estrada is a unified champion at his original weight division, it seems like Roman has no true interest in the said clash while feasting on washed up fighters or journeymen with 28 losses on their record.

It fell through because HBO offered the pair of them $150,000 to split. That's the only offer HBO have made and he's specifically stated he wants to fight him again.

And @ thinking he wants the entire million.
