Look, there's no question at this point who the greatest fighter of this generation is. Floyd's legacy has never been based upon one fight, but if you didn't respect his accomplishments prior to May 2, 2015 you now have NO choice.

I don't understand the bold. Firstly, they could add more statues of boxers who have showcased their greatest fights at the MGM. It doesn't have to be just Floyd, hell they could add Manny if they want to. But I don't think they will considering MGM and Arum/Top Rank's soggy relationship.

And secondly, I don't understand how an outside statue of Floyd would affect sales for other shows, concerts and promotions. How do any of the statues at the Staples Center affect their dozens of concerts and non-sports related events they host there?

I'm saying that it's different than a typical venue... the idea of a casino is to get you inside the building. If you could walk to see a statue of Floyd and not have to go inside the MGM itself, then there is less of a reason to put there. If you, as a fan, have to walk inside the casino doors to see the statues, then it's serving a purpose because you also have to walk by their slots, their tables, the shops, restaurants, etc. I think it would do the statues better justice being inside..preserves them better too.
