Why does Oscar have a statue outside Staples? Didn't he fight there just once?

It doesn't even have to be Vegas. Just MGM Resorts. They call the shots. AEG owns the Staples Center and had ties with Golden Boy, that's the only reason for ODLH's statue. Floyd has close ties to MGM Resorts.

i think based on his boxing alone, and the kind of attention he's brought to the MGM Grand, it would be a great idea to put a statue up. unfortunately his legal issues outside the ring mean that there will be a lot of protesters and negative publicity coming along with it should they ever decide to do it. for that reason i don't think it'll happen. but imo you have to separate the man from his work. floyd's a ring legend, and i would have no problem with a statue going up.

Ive said that mgm should have some sort of boxing history theme something. Restaurant, garden, tour, or whatever. Statues, highlights, memorabilia, etc..

I would go to it but not sure how popular it would be.
