Kathy Ducka is in the way......dont be surprised if before the purse bid, Al Haymon finds a backwards deal to get Kovalev out of his contract

HBO is not in the business of building up fighters to just let them fight the biggest fight on a different network.
Especially not with guys like GGG and Kovalev. Didn't care much about the boring azz ward fighting a stiff from Europe though
Then they should outbid GYM. Simple as that. GYM is ready to go there, HBO just has to make worth their while.

Or Duva shouldnt petition the WBC to do **** all.

The process is pretty clear. Its not rocket science. You get a mando, you negotiate, if you cant get a deal you go to purse bid, whoever wins the bid puts the fight on whatever network and venue they chose. Duva cant enter the contest but ***** about the outcome if she looses.

HBO is not the only network out there they have to compromise too sometimes.

Once again someone who cannot separate what is good for the sport from money. I have no interest in watching this fight on PBC with no titles in evidence and an empty ring and arena and zero championship atmosphere. This fight should be a celebration of the sport with the extremely rare event of the unification of all the major titles.

And if people cannot see that, then there is no reason to look any further for a reason why boxing is no longer a major sport with American audiences. The fans have forgotten the reason we watch boxing prize fights to begin with.

honestly tho it should not matter even if hbo dont win the purse bid the fight should go on. otherwise people need to tread kovolav the same way they treated stevenson

              Ignorant BS.

Put this fight on SHO in either MTL or Quebec City and you have top notch production with a sold out arena.

Whats important for the sport is that the fight happens. Period.

On what network its on is completely irrelevant to true fans who just want to watch the best fight the best.

Why are people acting like this is a done deal? We're just back on square 1 from square 0. That's all.

Another one that simply does not get it. KOVALEV CANNOT FIGHT ON ANY OTHER NETWORK. HE HAS A CONTRACT WITH HBO. AN EXCLUSIVE CONTRACT. Ignoring that contract would well lead to a legal challenge that prevents the fight from happening and could have long term effects on Kovalev's career. It could actually lead to him being stripped of all his title belts if he is kept out of the ring long enough do to legal difficulties.

All of you who think it is so easy for Kovalev to fight on another network, give this a try. Instead of going to work tomorrow, call your boss and tell him that you have decided to go and work for the competition for the next few days and see what happens to your job.

                      I like...

...how black fighters like Hopkins can say all the race based comments they want and the ****** political correct that protects this culture says nothing but 1 white fighter (Kovalev)REPEATS what a black fighter (Stevenson said that Kovalev looked like a monkee) said and oh my. You black folks better grow some thicker skin. Kovalev can speak English better then most of the ****** trash that calls themselves fighters in the USA. Whiny b i t c h e s. Follow your own Advice. Good for Kovalev. Adonis does look like a gorilla.
