i meant in the sense of Chavez losing and ppl bringing up this fight and celebrating it like they were huge fans of Fonfara. In reality they're just brining it up bc they dislike chavez for being a certain nationality. I mean we've already established Chavez jr is trash, shouldn't be a big surprise.

However if you're a fan of Fonfara props to your fighter.

What I was impressed by is how he learns from his opponents. Did you see at a couple points, after getting pummeled on the inside, he would then move to the outside and not only give the Sergio Martinez stance, but also try to fight like him?

That was his plan C. His plan B was to complain to the Ref. His plan D was to get the hell out of dodge and collect Al's cheque LOL

Now he knows how his opponents felt.
Brian Vera did it and a lot of people thought he won. Also he never quit.

Thousands of fans showed up (many of them were there for chavez) and payed money to see him quit after the 9th round, do you think that reflects well with the public? I saw nothing that impressed me last night. What i saw was poorly prepared, next to no skills with no gameplan whatsoever chavez jr. He should retire but instead Haymon will use Arum's blueprint in matching him up with smaller fighters. Chavez admitted himself that fonfara was too big! Lol

Difference is the hands down is part of sergio's style. Chavez had his hands down because he was so gassed. He was clearly in terrible shape for this fight.

Jr. has no fundamentals so he tries mimic what he see. His father or Sergio. What a waste of everyone's time.

This is a prime example of seeing the positive in everything.

Impressed with TS courage more than I am with Chavez getting utterly dominated.

Then he's like, screw it, I am going after this guy and I am going to try to break him on the inside. He took a beating for 9 rounds but he was also landing good shots on Fonfara, but he tried so hard and for so long considering the amount of punishment he took.

In the end of it all, he was badly outmatched and he tried his hardest going into the lion's den and got beaten up, and it was a good thing he quit, as he was going to get beat up a lot worse in the next 3 rounds provided he was still standing.

I was really impressed with his determination and his courage as his technique is absolutely atrocious, his boxing IQ is below average but that guy fought hard. He isn't a Provodnikov or a Margarito but he's tough.

I think everyone hates him for turning down GGG but GGG can maybe learn smth from Chavez and fight somebody as good as Fonfara.
I was impressed that he took a fight with a very high probability of losing. That's where it ends though.

I was not impressed with Chavez. He looked slow and clumsy and was out boxed and out punched. The size difference was next to nothing. I think the contract weight was 172. Chavez can't make 160 and he is a big 168 pounder now. What the hell could GGG learn from Chavez???? GGG is ten times the fighter Chavez is and ten times more of a true professional. GGG fights 4 or 5 times a year, not once every 16 months. GGG is a small middleweight and he will fight any middleweight in the world. Why would he fight a top light heavyweight when he goal is to win all the belts at middleweight? GGG will be on top for a few more years most likely. Chavez most likely is on his way out as a big money maker.
