Am I the only one who was impressed with Chavez Jr.

First off he fought Fonfara who is a top 5 lightheavyweight and he fought him at his weight (well, more or less).

The fight starts off and Chavez realizes how badly outmatched he was from long range. He just didn't want to be there. He didn't think Fonfara was all that. In the first two rounds, he just wanted to quit, that was too much for him.

Then he's like, screw it, I am going after this guy and I am going to try to break him on the inside. He took a beating for 9 rounds but he was also landing good shots on Fonfara, but he tried so hard and for so long considering the amount of punishment he took.

In the end of it all, he was badly outmatched and he tried his hardest going into the lion's den and got beaten up, and it was a good thing he quit, as he was going to get beat up a lot worse in the next 3 rounds provided he was still standing.

I was really impressed with his determination and his courage as his technique is absolutely atrocious, his boxing IQ is below average but that guy fought hard. He isn't a Provodnikov or a Margarito but he's tough.

I think everyone hates him for turning down GGG but GGG can maybe learn smth from Chavez and fight somebody as good as Fonfara.

Yup, the way he won no rounds and quit on the stool after getting knocked down was impressive.

I think it's impressive the way he went about fighting somebody bigger, stronger and better. I think it was impressive that he brought a knife to a gun fight and fought like that for 9 rounds. I think Chavez won a couple of rounds and while he was getting beat bad, the rounds Fonfara won were competitive and he himself got tagged a good amount.

He could've tried to survive and lose a clear unanimous decision but he decided to go for the win while badly outmatched.

It's almost as bad as asking Margarito to go into a fight against a 160 pounders. Tony was getting whooped by 154 pounders, imagine him at 160 even against the Quillins of boxing he's getting destroyed.
