To Haymon, these legal settlements are part of the investment in getting top name fighters. They may not be great fighters, but they have a brand name.
beg the differ Rios, Bradley, Marquez, Cotto (untill Rocnation threw him something he cant pass up), etc.

Only reason these dudes jump ship to haymon is because of the paychecks and promises lol. He reminds me of a shady public defender just feeding you BS to sign the plea.

Why didn't he just let him go without a court battle? Who cares about Jr, he is not some big star, has not done anything of note, and just doesn't have a long future in the sport.

What is the appeal of this garbage can, other than his last name?
He did crush a guy that holds a major title now. Ya gotta give him that if nothing else. I think the Fonfara fight will be interesting

I think Steve Kim's industry source is actually Bob Arum, who told Kim to quote him anonymously. I think the seven-figure settlement is a lie that Arum mentioned to save face. I believe that Arum just recognized that he did not have a leg to stand on and dropped the lawsuit months ago.
Bob arum has been suing Chavez Jr. And haymon for q couple months already. As soon as Chavez signed with al haymon, where have you been?

Anyways I dont see all the hate for bob arum. Chavez was offered 15 million to fight ggg and one other fighter, and he ran to al haymon because he didn't want to take a bad beating by ggg

For one, cause you're setting a bad precedent letting a cash cow break his contract without penalty. Soon enough everyone would do it. But also cause TR did great by Chavez, without them he's a straight bum

Cotto was unhappy with TopRank and soon Mikey Garcia will be leaving TR. So you basically listed 90% of TR's roster.

Not really. They may get paid well for now, but he's ruining their reputations. The money isn't going to last forever if his TV deals sinks.

Ummm..... no, that tells you that it is not worth getting contracted to Top Rank, regardless.

Pac resigning with Top Rank, who will not work with other promoters and has no welterweight talent to offer, is inexplicable.

Pac lost millions on the Mayweather fight by resigning with Top Rank last year.

Chavez is either way smarter than Pacquiao, or..... Bob is holding something over Pacquiao that he does not hold over Chavez.
