All I know is Chavez can now dictate his own career, he can fight GGG and make double what was offered him by Arum, he didn't have to tie himself down to an extension to get any fight like he did for the Martinez fight and he has a name that can help him get around, having said all of that he needs to be more dedicated to the sport to make his name count.

This sounds exactly like the argument people (including myself) made as to why Floyd was ducking Margarito. Where's he gonna get an $8m payday from??

Obviously that bet paid off for Floyd the excessive gambler. Chavez is nowhere near as talented so maybe that doesn't happen for him but he has every right to take control of his own career.

I just thinks it's funny he wouldn't sign an extension with Top Rank, but he signed a lifetime contract with Haymon... I still want to see Chavez vs GGG.

I wanted to see GGG vs Chavez too...but only because it would have propelled GGG to superstardom faster. However, the reality is that GGG would have destroyed Chavez and definitely sent him to the hospital. I would've loved if top rank paid whatever chavez wanted for that one GGG fight so they could send him off with a brutal beating, but Chavez was probably never even serious about taking the fight.

i dont think chavez would of thought twice about taking that fight had the money been right thats for sure. if arum dont try to rip him off that fight gets made no doubt in my mind
