I think Steve Kim's industry source is actually Bob Arum, who told Kim to quote him anonymously. I think the seven-figure settlement is a lie that Arum mentioned to save face. I believe that Arum just recognized that he did not have a leg to stand on and dropped the lawsuit months ago.
The suit has been ongoing since last year, not last week .

It wasn't reported. I just found the court documents over at pacer.gov. It's hard to describe from memory, but you can read it yourself here. (particularly pages 7-9)

I would've loved if top rank paid whatever chavez wanted for that one GGG fight so they could send him off with a brutal beating, but Chavez was probably never even serious about taking the fight.
Junior was supposed to get his highest payday with GGG at like 8-9 million. If he won, he would have been extended and his next fight was going to be close to 10 million. The contracts were very fair for Junior, so it's strange that he would try to leave. However that all happened when he got in bed with Haymon.

Let's see what Junior gets paid to fight Fonfara. I bet it won't be anywhere close to the figures he was going to receive. Another funny thing, after all that mess, Junior than has the courage to call out GGG after he fought Murray.

Yeah it was actually a good deal for Chavez, even if Golovkin beat Chavez down he'd still get a minimum of $5m in his next fight even a tune up. So it was a one fight extension. But no matter, Chavez wanted to be with Haymon and he believes that's best for his career so that is the end of that. Hope it works out for him. We'll probably see Chavez at 175 soon and Haymon has been building somewhat of a stable between 168-175. Chavez vs Bika next on CBS.

Wouldn't be surprised if the settlement was 7 figures and a percentage of his next few purses. At least it's resolved.

It'll take some digging but there was a thread here when the suit first took place where chavez Jr stated that he didn't understand the contract.
