Kessler & Froch are Ward's 2 best wins by far. And arguably the best between the 2 fighters. Both were A-level fighters, that's why he got rated highly. Even though they were IN his hometown.
Funny though that Ward ducked Bute like a scared cat. Dat Slick-Southpaw Style BEFORE it got **** on.

Kessler was in Oakland, Froch was in New Jersey.

        3. Cleverly (Kovalev) In Nathan's hometown
        4. Froch (Ward) In Ward's home country, but his best win
        5. Dawson (Ward) Chad was weight-drained corpse
        6. Abraham (Ward) In California, Ward used illegal tactics
L Kessler (Ward) Ward should have lost by DQ

Kessler (in his home town, should have been DQ for deliberate head butts)
Froch (Ward had home country advantage again)
Abraham (In California and once again, he used illegal tactics)
Dawson (in Ward's home town, Chad's weight-drained corpse)

Kovalev also has four, but without illegal tactics and home advantages:

            Campillo (neutral ref)
            Cleverly (in Nathan's home town)
            Hopkins (near Hopkins home city)
            Pascal (in Pascal's home town)
Dude you cant just cite the home country advantage all the time. Ward won those fights fair and square. You do whatever the ref lets you get away with. Its boxing FFS.

And as a former Wlad licker you always defended his ridiculous clinching.

              Agree with this slightly.

              1. Hopkins (Kovalev)
              2. Froch (Ward)
              3. Pascal (Kovalev)

              5. Kessler (Ward)
              6. Cleverly (Kovalev)
              7. Abraham (Ward)

And these tell you a lot about how bad these two need each other. Froch being Wards best win against a resume scattered with former greats, journeymen, and some prospects.
Same goes for Kovalev who best win consists of a 50 year old man (no matter his greatness, he was 50), and his is filled with Journeymen, former greats and yet proven prospects.

No matter what you can not rate Cleverly that high. He was an over protected fighter for years and very well could still have been champ if his team didn't underestimate Kovalev. I do give you Kessler was a dirty fight! Fact is both need each other on each other's resume. Much like Golovkin needs either a Cotto/Canelo type name on his or Wilder with Povetkin/Klitchko

In the past many thought that he is just a crude puncher and not as technically sound. That was over the top. Now to counter it his fans make him out like he would be some kind of a super computer, master boxer. That's also over the top.
No way that Kovalev has more ring IQ and better skillset than Ward regardless if his abilities are still underrated by some or not.
                  Solid post!

I like Ward, but I would have to go with Kovalev, to big and to good. I dont see anywhere in this fight where Ward would be able to capitalize on him. They are both extremely good but Kovalev is just bigger and stronger and just as polished as Ward.

Why do you have so many "kick me" icons? Are you an unpopular poster?
