This is possibly the toughest fight to determine a winner. Both have dominated their weightclass... Ward more so but Kovalev seems to be avoided. Ward has a difficult style to compete with but saying that Hopkins is a has greater Ring IQ and that was diminished against Kovalev.

Personally I'd weight more toward Kovalev... Just based off activity. For the most part Kovalev has continued to fight the toughest opposition possible; while Ward has been taking a 2 year break. If this fight occurs next at 175, I'd say with out a doubt Kovalev by late KO. While if Ward has one good, tough, relative match up I'd say it would be much closer.

Kovalev couldn't put away a 50 year old Hopkins but the majority here think he KO's the guy who walked through Froch, among other heavy hitters? Oh, NSB, you always learn the hard way.
Eagerly looking forward to this one.

Since Kovalev is seen bouncing around people assume he can box on the backfoot, I really don't think he can, he can step back and attack but from what I've seen he's off balance on the backfoot, stumbling and uncomfortable.

I don't know, I'd have to go back to a more prime Ward to remind myself what he's capable of, but he looked like sht vs Paul Smith, if that Ward shows up he gets stopped.

Kovalev being able to immunize himself against all of Bernard Hopkins tricks is an imminent indication that Ward's tricks could be practically useless against him. And if his tricks can't work and he can't hurt kovalev, he's probably going to look like a moving bobo doll in there by the end of the fight.

To be fair, even if hopkins was 50... he's an alien being, taking spectacular care of himself. Might be 50, but his body and mind is late 30's. He's always known for having one of the best chins in the sport too, he wasn't there to fight, he was there to survive... and we all know how good he is at that

I have no clue how this fight plays out. We still haven't seen Ward face a 175lber yet.

Ward has four wins over former world champions, but all are tainted:

Kessler (in his home town, should have been DQ for deliberate head butts)
Froch (Ward had home country advantage again)
Abraham (In California and once again, he used illegal tactics)
Dawson (in Ward's home town, Chad's weight-drained corpse)

Kovalev also has four, but without illegal tactics and home advantages:

                      Campillo (neutral ref)
                      Cleverly (in Nathan's home town)
                      Hopkins (near Hopkins home city)
                      Pascal (in Pascal's home town)
