I'm 60/40(60 KOvalev/40 Ward) from what I've seen so far from both but... I'll have to see what Ward looks like after his lengthy layoff and I'm sure they would fight at 175lbs where I've yet to see how Ward looks at that weight. They both have the tools to beat each other. If I had a gun to my head and had to pick an option I would pick KOvalev by T/KO although a UD by Ward isn't hard to fathom happening. I think KOvalev is too big, too strong, has enough skills, and more than enough power to beat Andre Ward at 175lbs as of right now. I want to see GGG vs Ward and KOvalev vs Stevenson before KOvalev vs Ward. I think that GGG has all the hype that KOvalev deserves.

Kovalev is technically sound and a powerful guy but Ward is just on a whole different level than him.
I can name almost any fighters' weaknesses but Ward is one of the very few exceptions. Honestly I never see any particular weakness in his game.
Very good defence, movement, inside, outside and pocket work, physical strength, speed, angles, awkward punches, head snapping jab...
I don't see how Kovalev could beat him outside of a big, maybe even lucky punch. Ward's skills and abilities are just suprerior to Kovalev's outside of punching power and reach (but reach is just by a hair...) so if it goes to a decision no way that Ward loses.
People who build their opinion based on the Hopkins-Kovalev fight are in for rude awakening. You won't see Ward stand against the ropes wait for Kovalev to crush him with his combinations.
Ward is obviously levels above this version of Hopkins and maybe it's blasphemy but honestly I think Ward if he's still Ward is better than any version of Hopkins.

I think Kovalev is a more intelligent fighter than many give him credit for. He'd figure out to uppercut or check hook Ward as he comes in leading with his head.

I don't doubt that he is technically sound but I think this whole thing turned in the opposite direction.
In the past many thought that he is just a crude puncher and not as technically sound. That was over the top. Now to counter it his fans make him out like he would be some kind of a super computer, master boxer. That's also over the top.
No way that Kovalev has more ring IQ and better skillset than Ward regardless if his abilities are still underrated by some or not.

I'd love to see this fight!

(in a neutral location with neutral officials, no Jack Reiss to permit Andre Ward to use illegal tactics)

No, Kovalev is comfortable at 175 and doesn't need to move up.

The last line breaks my heart, but I'm not totally against it. I think B-Hop in his prime could hang with Ward, but I'm not sure who wins. Agree with everything else you said. People that think Kovalev or GGG are any problem for Ward don't know what they're watching.

Ward goes with rough house tactics whenever he fights a legit opponent, that **** wont work with a bigger fighter, I think Sergey hurts Ward.
