Kovalev becomes the first person to beat Ward in the pros, and knock him out.
Once Ward feels his power, he's gonna shell up and be on the move and won't be concerned with scoring points.
Kovalev won't "go for the knockout," he can keep a safe distance and utilize his jab and outbox Ward and not let Ward get into any kind of a rhythm, but Kovalev has the gift of unintentional, natural power and him "boxing" still consists of Krushing power- Ward will not be able to withstand it for more than 7 rounds, IMO.
Kovalev has never fought a boxer as skilled as Ward in the pros, but Ward has never, ever fought a boxer with the combined skill set of Kovalev.
All of those 168lb'ers were child's play- and if they had "power," they certainly had no other kind of skill or ability. Basically brawlers. I.E Froch.
Nice of Jim Lampley to **** on Rigo, calling him the p4p most boring fighter in boxing... very professional... Just reinforces how even on super sleek HBO, the sport isn't treated how a sport should be treated (i.e. with respect for its highest performing athletes)... Rigo is boring but Ward isn't? give me a break.
Cool, so the people who said Ward will never fight Kovalev, are not resorting to talking about Ward's dirty tactics and what ref will be used if they fight.

Same ****, different day.
They all possess the same inbred gene. Don't laugh at those folks, pity them.
Ward at his best would be the diva we all know that wants his judges and hometown, no?
Sorry, Kovalev has done this too often. Embarrassed fighter's in their own home turf.
Ward is a spectacular fighter, but not the most entertaining.
This is the best fight that can be made, I'm gonna say Kovalev > Ward
Ward at his best is the guy who utterly dominated Froch , nobody else did that to Froch.
You may dislike his style,it's your right, nonetheless Ward is a supremely well rounded fighter.
I'd pick Ward, but I'm not saying Kovalev has no chance, that's what makes it a great fight.
