He's lost 26 fights, I know as a boxing fan that sometimes that does not tell the whole tale but many of the paying public will not see it that way!

If the paying public is as in the dark as some of the people here, you may be right, but the bottom line is that just because you don't know alot about Hatton doesn't mean the people in North America don't, which is where Hatton's fighting and aiming to get more popular.

This would be a great fight to watch, and better than any that have been suggested for Hatton's may fight.

Leave it two a handfull of Brits who are looking at Augustus' record on paper to poo poo the idea.

As a fan, that's all I'm interested in.
Ah, its the old Bozo: I hurt your feelings trick. Well spank my arse and call me Miguelita. How. Unexpected. Was. That.

I wasn't arguing about David Haye (hell, he may well even lose tonight, as his chin has been a bit iffy, very exciting fighter though), but about Mormeck being hideously overrated by you. I was right, and you were wrong. As usual.

AUgustus has talent, but hasn't fulfilled it and has only himself to blame. That is the honest to God truth, though he may well give Hatton a good fight for a few rounds.

      Veni, vidi, vici.

You were arging about Haye, and you were hating on Mormeck for no reason. The very suggestion that you were correct about what you were saying is quite funny when you consider this was one loss he suffered since reaching the top. He's still a helluva fighter, and your complaining was without Merrit.

The definition of a wouned little sod is somone who comes trolling in based on a past grievance, and you've done that to a tee. What Mormeck had to do with this thread shows where your motivation came from.

Once again, the point at hand is that this would be an excellent fight to garner a fan base in the US, and would be much more exciting that a fight with Collazo.

Your having seen 3 Augustus fights speaks for itself.

Id hate to see Augustus take the fight and just get blown out of there by Hatton, and have that be all that materializes from hattons big US debut. But maybe I am selling him short, hes much younger than I would have thought from seeing him fight,I dont know, to me he looks kind of worn.

Id rather see Hatton fight Harris out of all the names Ive seen mentioned(believe it or not).

Thats a damn sight more fights than most people on here have seen before writing a fighter off. I bet you were one of the "Lacy KO Calzaghe" crowd or the "Tszyu beats Hatton by death" crowd.

I wrote an accurate post on Augustus and you're the one who is doing all the "hating". Why? Because you're someone who really knows the square root of **** all about Boxing (or anything else apart from silk sheets).

I wasn't the one getting all aggravated. You were. I didn't "hate" on Augustus, I just told it like it is. If you can't cope with opinions that are contrary to yours then I would have to suggest that you'd be happier without an internet connection.

So you admit you're writing him off and justifying it with the fact that you've seen others behave that way?

You claimed this wouldn't be a good fight, and cited Augustus' record.

The bottom line is that Augustus would bring more viewers than any other fight Hatton's camp has been looking at, and would be a very exciting fight that he'd thrill the people seeing him for the 1st time in. That was supposed to be the goal in him taking fights in the US. What acclaim does Collazo or Naoufel Ben Rabah bring to the table? Because they have better resumes on paper, they're the better options? Please.

Dispite Augustus' record on paper, he's a fan favorite over here, and has a cult following.

It makes sense in almost every way, and when you add in the purse split he's offering up, it looks even more attractive.

Where have I claimed it wouldn't be a good fight? Learn to read more carefully.

It may well attract viewres, but lets be honest: Augustus doesn't deserve a shot at the Champion. At least Collazo brings something to the table. Augustus just brings his years of underachieving and wasted talent.

                    And Naoufel Ben Rabah does?

Now you're looking at meaningless rankings as a means of justifying your ignorance here.

Hatton's title isn't on the line if he fights Collazo because he's moving up, and Collazo's title is a joke.

                    None of that means anything.

The point of Hatton coming to the USA was to grow his fan base in North America to set up bigger fights.

A fight with Augustus makes sense in that regard more so than him fighting one or two guys that are relative unknowns.

At least Ben Rabah "played the game" and has himself close to landing a title shot.

Collazo's title isn't an especially good title, but it is a title.

Collazo has the right ingredients for a fight with Hatton. Augustus doesn't bring any such ingredients to the table, though he'd probably make for a better looking fight than Collazo would.
