It's not that Augustus can't give Hatton a competitive fight. It's that he dosn't deserve one. What are you going to reward him for? Losing? If that's the case, than give Reggie Strickland his title shot. And another thing, Hatton is trying to get over in America. Fighting Augustus will not help.
It's got nothing to do with that. If it were up to Hatton, he would have made his defense agaisnt Naoufel Ben Rabah.
You don't like Augustus, so you're bringing up technicalities to speak about why the fight shouldn't happen.
I would imagine that the title wouldn't even need to be on the line. This isn't about looking for someone to make a just and viable defense of his title.
If he fights Collazo, it won't even be on the line, and Collazo's title is a joke.
What this is about is making the best fight for the fans, that will in turn interest an American audience in Hatton.
With this fight, more fans come to watch him, and with the excitement level, more fans come back to watch him again.
That was his stated goal for fighting "tune up" fights in the US to lead into bigger PPV fights.

I think Augustus could give Hatton a bit of trouble with his speed and boxing skills. Augustus seems to have good endurance so he could probably keep up with Hatton for the most part, though the body punches could give him some trouble. I see Hatton coming out strong but if Augustus survives the onslaught I think He'll start taking some rounds.
