Remember, Stevenson's promoter already made this fight once. He reached an agreement, verbally and via email, with Kathy Duva and had a contract drawn up ready for Adonis to sign.

But Superman signed with Haymon instead and turned into Superduck. That's why Duva started the law suit against them. Maybe GYM wanted to make sure that Haymon didn't stick his oar in and swerve Stevenson away from Kovalev again.

Not according to GYM. There was never an agreement. Stevenson never liked the money offered which is why Haymon was brought in. To get more money which he did. It just happened to be from Showtime. If Schaefer wouldn't of left GBP Stevenson Hopkins would've happened.

Good news.

Two big issues: 1) Will Mohammedi and the IBF allow it? This will turn out to be the smaller issue of the two. Either they do and they unify all 4 belts or they don't and they unify 3 belts with Mohameddi fighting for a vacant belt. 2) HBO or PBC? Haymon will win the bid without a doubt, will HBO allow that matchup to happen on another network? Haha, I don't see it. What would they gain from that? This one will be a roller coaster.

That's not true. Pascal could never offer Stevenson anything. Stevenson has Haymon and his team makes the offers. Stevensons team had offered Hopkins the fight and he chose Kovalev instead.

Haymon didn't offer BHop the fight, that's why he ended up going with
Kovalev instead.

Bernard had a deadline to make a mandatory defence of his title that he didn't want to fulfil, and the only way out of it was a unification fight. When he still hadn't had any word from Haymon on the evening before the deadline took effect, he phoned Duva and made the fight with Kovalev in a couple of hours.

It was Stevenson's promoter who did that. We don't know why the promoter did that because they could have made a Kovalev fight without the WBC ordering it. Maybe he wanted to defy Al Haymon and show that he is in charge of Stevenson's career.

We don't know if the WBC ordered the fight as a result of Stevenson's promoter requesting it or if the WBC is simply trying to capitalize on a money-making opportunity. Regardless, Haymon could still squash the fight .if he doesn't want it to happen and overpay Stevenson for the rest of his career while Stevenson fights on PBC undercards.

As I said about the "Cotto situation": Stevenson may scrap his WBC belt anytime for whatever reason... The pimp will still hold the Ring "lineal" belt and he may fight in Haymon's PBC until the end of time as "lineal world champ"...
