What has Stevenson gained thus far by signing with Haymon?

But he didn't take the more lucrative fight.
He has walked away from the 3 highest paydays in his division. Eerily similar to your other hero Leo Santa Cruz.Comment

Talk about propaganda.
He didn't fight KOv and instead signed with Haymon and got a showtime deal that paid him more for each of the 2 fights he's had then he would have made for the Kov fight.
you have said this is ok in other situations. the reason you are doing something different now, we can only speculate.
As for not fighting bhop or pascal, he cost himself money up to this point. Going forward by fighting Kov and Chavez jr., he makes up for that lost money and then some. will these fights happen-I don't know.
In terms of Pascal, since that fight has a lot of regional appeal same as say a quigg/Frampton, some of that money may still be available.
So, in a nutshell, when the contract is up we will see how things went. and then fully assess.Comment

Or he would have made more for fighting Hopkins and Pascal than he would have for fighting 2 bums but he turned down both and allowed Kov to steal his thunder.without question, Kov has made a huge leap in pay the last few years. He is going to make the most lucrative fights, as Duva stated clearly the main focus was the money. She got him the HBO deal which is great.
For whatever reason he didn't take home much from the BHOp fight and that's on Kathy.
My only point is giving an honest answer to the TS question rather than the BS fueled by hatred. Adonis has a showtime deal, which he didn't have before he signed with Haymon. He's made more money for each of the 2 crap fights than he would have for the Kov fight on HBO at the time.
Lose/Lose all around if you ask me.Comment

He would have made more for Bhop and Pascal over the 2 bums because of the showtime deal.
no matter how you cut it, ANY fighter getting an exclusive HBO/SHO deal is good for them.
I agreed that in no other way has it been beneficial other than economically. How can anyone (other than a poster with a dirk agenda) disagree with that.Comment

It will be interesting to see if Stevenson ever faces Kovalev. Stevenson is with Haymon, who no longer does business with HBO, which Kovalev has an exclusive deal with. As another poster stated, the likely-hood of this fight being big enough for inter-network cooperation is slim. All that stuff really doesn't matter, and honestly the fight will probably be in Montreal anyway since the money is there, so other than maybe getting less than 50% it isn't a big deal. But if that less than 50% is greater than the more than 50% he would have got as the a-side then he didn't go off the rails that much.
I will say this people especially hardcore boxing fans totally discount looking impressive when being viewed by a large audience regardless of the opposition. That fight is on CBS how many untrained eye balls are going to be on that show? More than trained ones I know for certain.
In boxing sometimes bull****ing while an opponent gets shine can work out just fine in boxing, as long as a guy isn't hung up on that a-side stuff.
Nobody cares about Stevenson vs Bika. I wouldn't be surprised if viewership actually drops from the previous PBC shows, unless they have some big undercards. If Stevenson beats Bika, so what? he's supposed to. Now if Bika gives Stevenson a hard time, once again, Superduck will have shot himself in the foot. That could further soften interest in seeing him fight Krusher, save to see him get "krushed" for being a ****.
Stevenson has taken the wrong path in his career, IMO. He would have been better off fighting Kovalev while he was still early in developing his technique. But now that Kovalev has honed his skill more and gotten Hopkins and Pascal under his belt, he's more formidable than ever.Last edited by SUBZER0ED; 03-16-2015, 12:08 PM.Comment

Stevenson has been cast under Kovalev's shadow further and further, fight by fight. He's doing what most Haymon fighters do, and facing poor opposition for decent pay. He's becoming irrelevant though.
Not wanting anything to do with Kovalev, not wanting to face Hopkins or Pascal..he has made himself a side note in Kovalev's career.
More and more people are watching Kovalev and are only interested in Stevenson if he's part of a fight with Kovalev.
I have more interest in Beterbiev than Steveson right now.Comment
