Monroe is clearly not a top 10 MW.

I am mildly interested to see how Monroe does, but he can't really punch so that would be a huge hurdle to overcome.

Golovkin is a huge favorite though.

He does need learning fights - who has he fought? Monroe isno walkover because he will not be there to be walked over! Look at Thurman, still learning! imagine Monroe takes the wind out of GGG and its only the 9th or 10th round due to his style and GGG has not ever faced this style before, Mental aspect is a energy drainer as well as the physical aspect - GGG needs to learn his 2nd gear and his 2nd wind if and when he steps his game up, can't knock all of them out - look at the Great Kostya tzyu against Vince Phillips - Phillips weathered hat storm and tired Kostya out, then drowned him with the late KO - Monroe is capable!

This fight could be preparation for Lara. K2 wants to fight in San Antonio around August and Lara would be a recognizable name.

GGG ducked Willie Monroe Sr so now he fights his son? Disgraceful. Has truly earned the name Triple Duck.

You bring up salka in a thread that has zero relevance or comparability to the Salka Garcia fight.

It's obvious that you have an agenda here.
I brought it up solely as a comparison since I think the opponents have no chance to win. I said the same about the Kov v Caparello fight and Manny V Algieiri.

Lets say you really believe the above how does saying this absolve Danny, al showtime or anyone you think "on the team"? It doesn't in any way.

what agenda does saying this serve?

              edit:

so you really think that's where I was going to go?

Ok, since you've seen me bring it up in other fights, have I ever then followed by making that claim about the danny v salka fight?

Just like when his uncle beat Hagler.

What poll? Only one I could find is this one, which is 82 to 63.

Mayweather and Pacquiao handled business and then moved up in weight to seek new challenges. They have fought guys 15-20 pounds bigger on fight night.

That's why Mayweather and Pacquiao have the ability to pick and choose who they fight. Because they chased greatness, not wait for it to come to them.
mayweather and pacquiao also had a bit of luck in securing quality opponents in a timely fashion. neither of them were ever as avoided as golovkin and rigondeaux currently are; they had the luxury of pursuing new challenges after having overcome their present challenges. we all want to see golovkin at super middleweight, but most of us would like him to get the big fights at middleweight out of the way first. the problem is that the opponents aren't ready at the moment, so he has to just tread water for a while. i'm giving him until winter and if the unification fights don't materialise by then he should give up and target froch or chavez jr as a prelude to ward

i would have liked lara or andrade instead of monroe too, but i'm not going to slaughter the guy for one gimme fight out of four in a year. if his third opponent isn't at least murray quality (i.e. quillin/lee, n'dam/lemieux, jacobs, lara or andrade) and his fourth a super fight (cotto, canelo, froch, chavez jr or ward), then i'll lose patience
