They are nowhere near comparable. Stop it.

I am on the fence with this one. Tureano maybe too tuff for his own good - He gets hit and GGG can crack, but Tureano brings it, he stays on you and enforces his will - who knows - it will be an exciting 2 rounds tho - lol

I'm a big fan of Monroe. I've met him, and he is an incredibly nice guy. This is way too much too soon. This could ruin him. Nevertheless, I wish him all the best.

well, it's better than heiland or johnson. good for him to get some experience against a slickster too.

GGG vs anybody is going to look like that in a poll right now, I've seen quite a number saying Lara would give him problems and they're ducking Lara. However the common theory is that he'll struggle with a mover. It's not one I really buy into but I'm happy to see it put to the test.
Maybe 5 people said that. And even if that is the case all pure boxers are not made equal.

Lara is a proven world class fighter and would have been an excellent choice. and he is available. Monroe is a prospect who hasn't even had a 12 round fight yet.

GGG is an elite, pound for pound caliber fighter. If Mayweather fought Errol Spence or Felix Verdejo you guys would be throwing a fit. HBO, GGG and his team deserve criticism here.

He's a brave man. He could wreck his career. But I guess looking good and losing to someone like Golovkin can enhance him.

Yeah, it would have been exciting but another anti-climax because it ends early. Tureano eats a lot of power shots flush, can't be doing that against Golovkin.

GGG just had a tough fight with Murray and he's fighting 4 times a year so this can bracketed as a stay-busy but it will be interesting to see how he deals with Monroe's movement, I mentioned on the other thread he didn't finish Gardner who was a boxer-mover.

Monroe is a career middleweight and apparently rated in the top 10 in the division. He is also a southpaw.

Salka was unranked at junior welter and ranked 75 at lightweight! On top of that, his fight with Garcia was technically at welter since it was above the 140 limit!

Yeah, these two situations are completely similar.

Is this what this guy means when he says he wants to stay and clean out the 160 division ? This never ending list of tomato cans he's fighting has me very acidic of late . He needs to just go ahead and make the move to 168 like yesterday !
