I don't want to turn this into a Danny Garcia thread but it's really not even close. The selection of Rod Salka as an opponent for Danny Garcia ranks among the worst mismatches of the last 10 years.
First off with Danny the standards are set higher because he's ranked the no.1 fighter in his weight class, he holds the Ring, WBC and WBA title. Compared to Kovalev who only held 1 belt, and wasn't even recognized as the best, or even 2nd best in the weight class.
Second Salka wasn't even from Danny's weight class. He was from a lower weight class, and he wasn't even ranked top 10, or 20, or 30.... or 50, he was ranked no.77 in a lower weight class.
So in the end you had the lineal no.1 ranked 140 lber in the world, facing the no.77 ranked 135 lber.
It's going to be very difficult for anyone to top that.
