  • Not the best opponent for GGG, but it's a good stay busy fight.

Wish more fighters would realize this. If you stay active, you stay on the minds of fans. Fighting once in a blue moon people lose interest.

i would have liked lara or andrade instead of monroe too, but i'm not going to slaughter the guy for one gimme fight out of four in a year. if his third opponent isn't at least murray quality (i.e. quillin/lee, n'dam/lemieux, jacobs, lara or andrade) and his fourth a super fight (cotto, canelo, froch, chavez jr or ward), then i'll lose patience
Golovkin and Rigondeaux are ducked by inferior opposition, not their equals/peers. In other words, the guys that are ducking them have no chance at winning anyways. That's another sign that its time to move up.

And trust me, I've done a complete 180. I used to defend them staying put. But after seeing Rigondeaux beg ****ing Scott Quigg to fight him and GGG fighting a prospect I've changed my mind.

Why do people say this? He's been targeting Froch & Chavez, it's been well documented.

Golovkin could fight Monroe and people will complain he's too green, but if he fought Lara or Andrade they'd complain they're JMW's. In Andrade's case he's 2 years younger than Monroe (who's been an active boxer his whole life amateur record of 128-14) and arguably as experienced in the pros.

          • How many stay busy fights/tune-ups will this guy get a pass for?

He's also currently trying to do the same thing for Leo Santa Cruz by ****ting on the Frampton vs. Quigg fight.

The guy actually thinks he's sly too which is the worst part

              • Wow, HBO is just laying down to Haymon with fights like these. Amazing. Let's see if GGG can do what only the 17-17 Boone did! And don't forget, Monroe has 6 big KO's.

What were you expecting? Golovkin is waiting to see how the WBC situation shakes out. He'll either fight Cotto or someone else for the belt this year. He was never going to move up or get a good fight at 160 after Murray.

                  • GGG fans: This is the best option.
Canelo fans: This is Cotto's fault.
Real boxing fans: Dafuq is this shlt? GGG continues to fight canns and when he KO's them GGG fan's say he's the best boxer on planet earth, top 10 P4P. GGG needs to move the *** up and fight some real competition and stop with the cherry picks.

He literally just fought a top 5 MW. And shouldn't you love this fight, since you love all boxing because you're such a real fan? Are you in line to buy your tickets to Golovkin/Monroe yet?
