Damn you Cotto for taking the biggest financial offer being made to you! You should display some class and guts and demonstrate that you are a leader by continuing to work for Bob Arum for one-half or one-third of what Roc Nation is willing to pay you!!!
It is a f*&^%%g said day in boxing when a fighter chooses money over loyalty!!!!

RocNation can lose money on a fight with Cotto in order to build their own brand. Top Rank can't match them because they really don't have much to build on anymore and, like the WWE, it appears Arum and McMahon have lost their touch. 50 years is a great run for any company, but Top Rank doesn't have many fighters and Arum seems more interested in China that building boxing up in the US. At least Haymon and Rocnation are trying to build something here, not suck the blood out of the landscape and leave which seems to be what Arum is doing.
Change is coming.

I really can't see the figures being that high.
No, Canelo was open to Vegas. Face it, Cotto didn't want the fight.

Has anyone even thought about the possibility of cotto promotions working with roc nation sports? As in, some fighters from cotto promotions in pr get to fight in nyc and vice versa.

You don't sign a fight on the same day Mayweather is going to fight no matter the opponent. Even if Cotto/Canelo got more buys than a Floyd PPV on the same date, it still wouldn't be as much as if they went alone. You don't also do it because then you have to change the date and location and all the stuff that is supposed to be taken care of in negotiations becomes an issue again.
Canelo cared more about sticking it to Floyd than a fight with Cotto. The promoter had nothing to do with that fight. I can only imagine if the roles were reversed and Canelo was only offered 500k more to fight in NY how the Canelo fans would feel about that. We'll never know though, because Canelo didn't even make it an option. He's a puta.Last edited by Beater_of_ass; 03-04-2015, 05:27 PM.

I don't understand how this even matters? Not like Roc has anyone for him to fight anyway. He still needs opponents and they will come from Tr,GB, or some other promotional company not with Haymon
