Not really, Chris John was known but it wasn't like he was huge. Indonesia is so large and many parts are isolated from one another. There was very little patriotic feeling for John, he was a decent fighter who had big local support in Jakarta he wasn't a countrywide icon the way Manny is.

Boxing is mildly popular in Indonesia, its mostly about Badminton, Prem League/Indonesian Super League (football), Basketball and Cycling are probably as big if not bigger depending on where you live in Indo (I must admit I haven't been there in just over a year or so).

Yes the entire basketball issue was funny yet ridiculous. I'm just pointing out the reason why the people of the Philippines are so passionate about Pacquiao.
Dude, thanks for your time letting these people on here about Manny's good deeds and his ambitions to change lives in his home country.

Most people that posts here wanted to see and emulate a flashy selfish, ****y, disrespectful, convicted women beater, fortune flaunting thugs instead of a humanitarian human being. They rather idolize someone who have the monicker of Thug Life.

Most people on this site are college students or middle class people. They are
privilege enough not to go through what those poor people in the Philippines
have to go through everyday. I will bet all my properties if some of this privilege kids survive a week living in those poor countries.

These people are crybabies, I see Mexicans critising each other every day in boxing, I see the same thing in America but if you do that in the Philippines they see that as you attacking one of theirs. Grow up gosh... Can you imagine a writer over there critising Pac over his boxing skills or ducking skills or whatever.

Manny probably could give a flying fuck about it. This isn't even about him.

It was an absolutely ******ed analogy.

Dude would get fired, fined, and possibly put to court, lol. It's ****ing ******. They need to change the way they react to opinions and alter the laws to promote freedom of speech instead of supporting crybabies and people sensitive to valid criticism.

Am I still seeing people surprised by this? America isn't the world, we get to talk **** with little to no reprucssions here. People should remember this before running their mouth. If you say something bad about someone from Iran online you could be arrested or killed. I work with a guy from there, he said we don't get spied on in this country... I laughed but then he said "Okay, you do but you won't get killed or arrested for saying **** *****." Yeah, we live in a great country, the rules don't apply everywhere else.

What happen if Pac plays baseball, waffles every swing, and gets criticized by a teammate? Does that teammate get sent to prison? The crazy this whole over-reaction to someone's opinion is entering North Korea crazy territory.
