i can't believe pryor took those shots like nothing.
If he beat Pryor he'd be up there for sure, Top 25 probably.

He's already Top 40 or so for me.

When Arguello was around, being a 3 weight world champion was a very rare thing. Only the best of the best we're capable of doing that (Armstrong, Fitzsimmons, Ross, Canzoneri etc). It was considered a huge feat at the time (1981)

He's widely considered the greatest 130 lber of all time.

That Pyror fight still gets me. He was well passed it, and he was beating Pyror despite being the older, smaller man.

I'm not going to read the comment. I'm used to a certain segment of NSB purposely misinterpreting posts. That's why I asked you directly.

I will respectfully disagree with you. Sweet Pea may have been smaller but he was far to great to not overcome the size disadvantage against Ghost, Canelo and Ortiz. I think you are severely underestimating Pernell.

Im not a Floyd stan. I just am VERY impressed by how perfect he was in his prime, and I dont think its right to lie about him not being that great, just because thats what everyone else does. Thats disrespectful to the sport.

I also dont think its right to lie about how good the past ATGs were, just because they fought in the past. This is MY era. I have seen the best fighters in HISTORY in MY era. If SRL and SRR fought in this era, no one would be talking about them because they arent as special as Floyd and Pac.

        My opinion! Sorry!

I just used to see him getting hit by all caliber of opponents. I was unimpressed with his skillset. The bobbing and weaving did not impress me. Floyd dont do all that showboat mess.

And he didnt dedicate himself. mistreated his body! I could go on! But I respect you, respectfully disagreeing!

              i blame the special water.

my pops had a love/hate thing for arguello.

he loved arguello but he hated how he beat up navarette, one of my pop's favorite after elorde.

So in your mind the judges score cards are more indicative of what happened in the ring than your own observations?

                LOL!

Depends what you look for really. In terms of achievement/accolades, that's pretty clear from the first post

Manny, closely followed by Jones Jr for me.

there's a HUGE difference in a good close fight and dominating...if you can't comprehend, well...it wouldn't really surprise me

                      Always the way

I had the same for Rocky Lockridge after he knocked out Roger Mayweather.

My other favourite fighter from my first era aswell as Arguello (Carlos Monzon) didnt really lose at his peak so I didn't have that then. Same with Arguello other than Pyror.

Arguello for me is the most beautiful fighter to watch. I already watched Boxing from a very young age (Cooper, Ali, Liston etc) but it wasn't until I saw Arguello as a young teen that I really fell in love. I really was gob smacked when I first saw him fight.
