Better Resume: Chris Byrd or Vitali Klitschko???

Yet boxers often fight with horrendous injuries, and this is relevant. I would never say "coward" but i would say "arthur abrahms." If Klitchko wants to ne compared to some great fighters despite his resume, I would mention ali fighting with a broken jaw. Its funny how people have no problem when someone like Ortiz is maligned for quitting but its bad form to mention Vitalie's choice to quit against Byrd? In essence Byrd made Vitalie quit the fight because Vitalie had a choice in this fight....so Byrd won. Some fights are won on wills and this was one of them. It is no less a win for Byrd.

It's obvious (Vitali even claimed so) that the only reason he quit was because he didn't think he could win enough rounds. It was apparent when he discovered the score, he could have won the fight w/o throwing another punch. So all you can REALLY say, was that he was a bit silly or naïve of his own performance. Pain wise it would have been excruciating and he couldn't punch. It's possible to still mount an Ali style run and grap performance anyway with a broken jaw.

How can you knock Vitali's heart anyway when you LATER consider the Lennox performance? I've never seen a fighter want to continue with a torn up face like that with the OPPONENT about ready to quit!

Quitting=gutsy and you get credit when you lose to Lennox because he retired afterwards. Geez.

Yes it does. Calzaghe has a very weak resume. but at least beat the other great supermiddleweight of his era in Kessler. And another top ranked contender and champion in Lacy. Also moved up and became lineal champion at another weight.

But his resume isn't that great no.

He didn't beat top 10 contenders for the majority of his reign no. and his title reign is 12-1. Ring didn't count WBO when he was champion.
