    I would say Holyfield.

But there's a couple of problems with where you're heading with this.

The date was the year 2000's, not the 1970's. CW is no longer HW!

Holyfield's HW record is 26-10, slipping at the times we're considering his Byrd performance.

Vitali's 2 round destruction of Kirk Johnson who was only disputably
DQed against Ruiz otherwise, who ALSO beat Holyfield, is better than ANYTHING on Byrd's resume..

^^^ THIS is a fact. One based on real life assessments, not on nut baggery.

You refer to every old HW as a Cruiserweight. So who is the best Cruiserweight ever if you only consider real heavyweights from the year 2000 on.

I already said Holyfield as he satisfies all conditions.

I believe he could have beaten all prior heavies and all subsequent cruisers. (Given the version just before he moved up to heavy which weighed in on fight night around 205.)

              Your point being?

Hmm.. Let me see. Byrd has wins over 2 hall of famers in Holyfield and Vitali Klitschko. Vitali has zero hall of fame wins. Vitali's top wins are Sanders, Arreola and Peter.

Byrd has wins over respected heavyweights Lionel Butler, Bert Cooper, Jackson, McCline, Oquendo and a very good win over David Tua in his prime. Vitali has wins over respected heavyweights like Adamek, Solis, Johnson, Chisora & Donald.

Both lost against the champion of their era, Byrd lost twice.

                I don't know. It's close. Probably Byrd.

I saw someone say Vitali by a mile, which I simply can't fathom why someone could say that without a trace of irony.

Byrd also beat other future Klitschko opponents like Castillio and Williamson.

obviously byrd. vitali and tua are better than sanders, peter, and adamek. even byrd's secondary wins are probably better than vitali. vitali's resume is utter sh-ite. vitali the most dominant heavyweight ever who head to head is the best heavyweight and would crush the little heavyweights of past years...except he lost to the 2 best fighters he fought including a light heavy(byrd) so i guess he left his amazing head to head skills at home when he fought the best.

Who cares, Vitali was a dominant champion, Byrd was never.
